We made a commitment that it was just about the tennis, to take care of things on the court and do it with good attitudes and good sportsmanship. That was really important.

It's nice to see that our recruiting efforts are being noticed and in company with a lot of very good tennis programs. We've made a commitment to competing with the top schools because we strongly feel that Santa Clara has so much to offer and is a great place for the college tennis experience. We have a solid nucleus of players that have the potential to accomplish many things and it depends on how we go about bringing it to reality.

I really think it is going to in the long run make me a better player giving you the perspective of being out on the court knowing that it's not the end of the world if you lose and that gives you the opportunity to go after your shots a little more, ... I think that we did a good job today to get back on track. It has been a difficult week. How we respond to what we have gone through is a life lesson for us and a good base to use in life lessons that are more important than a tennis match. To turn things around and make things better the rest of the season is a life lesson that they can store away and fall back on and use when things are difficult. I thought the way they approached today and how they played was a great way to respond to my challenge.
