en We played our best game of the year, and hit some balls out of the park which was good to see. It was a warm day and there was a little carry to the ball, and we got solid pitching and defense. I'm proud of Matt, he had a big day, and he's been through a lot to get to this point. All our hitters are swinging with a lot of confidence right now.

en We just weren't having good at-bats against him. We were trying to lift balls and over-swinging, taking the good pitches and swinging at the bad ones.

en We've got everybody healthy and we used a lot of guys today. We've got 11 or 12 guys swinging the bats well right now but our pitching is going to have to carry us from here on out. en It's been a long time coming. It's been a long time for me and a long time for these kids, too. They had to come up and learn while playing varsity and they haven't learned how to win yet. en He didn't have to answer anything from me. As long as he's healthy, he's a good pitcher. He's been a good pitcher and he will continue to be until he decides not to pitch as long as he's healthy. And he's very healthy. I understand what happened last year and we all know why. But he's too good a pitcher not to be good. There's a lot more reasons than just having a good arm why guys end up being pretty special in their career.

en It was definitely a tale of two halves. They came out really strong in the first half, playing real physical and winning most of the 50-50 balls, while we didn't play with any energy. en We all feel for him. It's tragic that that happened at that time. It's a bad situation for him to be in the situation he is in now. But I'm just down here to keep things in line.
