Sometimes you think he would say something out of frustration, but I don't think he is. He can think whatever he wants. We had a plan, saw a flaw in his delivery and we went with it. Hopefully, this will light a fire under our guys for somebody not giving you credit for mentally and physically having a good plan and coming out on top.

I'm just trying to help Michael get ready to play every day. We don't talk about it. We just let him go about his work.

Mark has got a lot of ability. He's learning more about himself and more about the pitchers in the American League. He's still growing as a player and doing the things that will enable him to reach his full potential.

He's such a pure hitter in every sense of the word. He gets on base when you need a rally. He's the best two-strike hitter in the game. He's so clutch.

I have a lot of faith. That's the main thing why I'm not scared at all.

He's always been good at getting on base, and he has a real good feel at the plate. He's really good with runners on base.

He just wasn't getting himself into hitting position. He was late on everything. When that happens, the law of averages works against you.

I've already seen him make this adjustment before, so there is no doubt in my mind he's going to get it back. Already, you can say he's feeling what he wants to feel out there.

The power is there, the only question was his health. But he's definitely showing the power and the bat speed that he's shown in the past.

Nix looks healthy. He's swinging the bat real good, this is the best I've seen him in a long time. Hopefully we can carry this through into the games. His lower half is a lot better and he's able to square up balls better.

I'm really happy to have a guy like Brook around, who knows me and what I teach. He'll do great.

It will be fine. They'll be good. They'll lock it in the last few days like they always do. I don't want to leave but it's part of it. I'm prepared mentally, I want to get it behind me and get back there with them.

I feel confident that they caught this early and I'm expecting to be back as soon as I can.
