It's hard, ... to defend an offense that uses three wide receivers, with a back, and a quarterback who makes plays with his feet.

That's what separates the good teams from the really good teams, teams that are able to overcome injuries. That offense definitely can do that. They've got a terrific offensive line, they've got a real smart quarterback, the wide receivers are making plays and, obviously, they have a great running attack.

That is how the game has evolved. We've got guys that can run and can make plays over defensive backs that are 5 feet 8, 5 feet 9. Our size also helps our offense because it gives our quarterback targets to see down the field.

I'm a big believer that if you can get a tight end that can stretch a defense vertically and give you some blocking on top of it, you can change your whole offense. That's why I think San Francisco is going to take him at six — because they have average wide receivers, he can help with a young quarterback, and he can be a difference-maker.

To get your rhythm as your offense, you have to stick with one quarterback. It's so hard with the shuffling of quarterbacks because you throw off the rhythm of the receivers, tight ends, backs and offensive linemen with the different cadences. With Gus pretty much being labeled as No. 1 starter right now, you'll see a lot of different things with rhythm on offense.

From our point of view, he's very poised. He has very good vision. He's very comfortable with the offense, and he looks like a relaxed player out there. He makes a lot of plays and doesn't seem to hurry things. He executes the offense like a very confident, experienced quarterback would do.

No matter what's happening, what type of receivers come in that could be more talented than him, his work ethic and high level of playing -- big plays, making plays, and being clutch -- keeps him grounded here. It keeps him stable. Makes it hard not to like a guy like that.
