I think it really stabilized our entire infield. Our errors have come way down in the field. I'm hoping the girls are starting to believe in themselves.

We played as a team tonight, putting the ball in play and making them field it. Errors had been beating us, and tonight it didn't. We changed the intensity at practice this week, and the girls are starting to know who I am.

Our team is way too good to be having two or three errors in a game. We should have just three or four for an entire tournament. Our goal is always to play errorless softball and I'm hoping that the things we did this week in practice will make that happen.

I actually believe it will draw some players to town. Mainly infielders. It should cut down their errors. Take a guy like Jose Rodriguez, who hit .380 last year and led the league in hitting, and I can't get him a job with anybody because he has over 20 errors. Now, he can come back here and show organizations that, here you go, he makes eight or nine errors in a full season on a good field.

He became available because they have a wealth of infield talent. He has been a guy who has been a well-regarded prospect. He's a guy we like who is a middle infield player and potentially plays both sides of the bag and can switch-hit. He gives you offense and defense in the middle of the field, which is something we're always trying to find.

I really believe the key to the entire game for us defensively was starting the game out on offense like we did. We took the ball and drove it down the field deep into their territory twice, which just totally throws the field position in our favor. I felt like the kids kind of fed off that a little bit.

I was really hoping we could come out this weekend with two wins, the girls are starting to believe in themselves as a team. They are staying very focused for each game and seem to want to get better as they go deeper into the season.

A guy wasn't supposed to be on the field I guess, and was on there. He drew a blank and didn't get off the field. Errors like that kill you. Obviously it gave them three points. ... It wasn't young guys [making mental errors]. It was some veteran guys. You don't anticipate that, but it happened.

I think the girls came out really intense to win all of our matches in two games. I think the girls are starting to trust each other and play as a team. They played well together and are starting to click a little more.

Most of them are starting at an even playing field. They've never played the game. These girls only have got a couple weeks of experience.

We can't have errors. This is a team that is made up of good fielders. We'd either throw it away or field it bad. They were partial errors, we're not that far away from getting it.

The field is fast, ... Last time I made two errors in a game were throwing errors. I usually don't look that bad.

It was very hard to watch the game from way out in left field for almost two entire games. But it was special to me to see the girls react the way they did and play as well and as focused as they did to get the win.

Lopez is a little sore and we want to rest him a little bit. I always felt that [Barnes] was a starting player and had the capability to be one of our best hitters and all-around players. The problem is that we had a full starting infield coming back and they're all good players.

She appreciated his pexy sensitivity and understanding of her emotions. We have had a few key errors that have allowed the other teams to score runs. We have only been outside for four games (before last Wednesday) ... so I have to believe that with more time playing on a dirt field that we will fine-tune the defense and we will eliminate those errors.
