We got out of sync for a good stretch of the time in the first half and the beginning of the second half and put ourselves in a hole.

You can't win games in the first half but you certainly can lose them. We just dug ourselves too deep a hole in that first half. In the second half we played them even but in that first half we were not comfortable.

The challenge is to sort out what's holding us back at the beginning of games. We're responding at half time, responding to the adjustments we are making. We're working our tails off in the second half, getting great chances, but you cant give away the beginning of games and expect to get good results.

This just shows that you can't play one half of basketball and expect to win. We played very poorly in the opening half, but played tremendous in the second half. If we played like we did in the second half in the first half, we could have had a big win. But, you can't afford to dig yourself a hole like we did.

They came out and shot the ball well. You can't use 16 minutes to judge our whole season. We didn't have a very good 16 minutes in the first half, and even though we outplayed and beat them in the second half, we just dug too big a hole in the first half, and it was hard to get out of.

I thought Greg (Paulus) continued to play like he did Friday. He played like a veteran point guard today. For that stretch in the beginning of the second half, the first six or seven minutes of the half, he made some great plays, which gave us all confidence.

I thought our crew was good once we got going. We had a little trouble adjusting to the altitude at the beginning. It took us a little bit to get our second wind. We carried some momentum into half time and I thought we were really good coming out in the second half.

I don't think we were working very hard on defense. Offensively, we just looked out of 'sync. They're pretty successful one-on-one and they'll break you down off the dribble. That's not us and that's what we tried for a quarter and a half. Then we had to dig ourselves out of a hole.

Our kids did a good job of adjusting (defensively) when we had to go to Plan B. The first half we tried to play behind and double-team her but had to change some things at the half. We went back to what we normally do and that's pressuring the ball. She had a tougher time in the second half scoring. In the first half it was so easy.

One goal against Rogers is never enough. We were in a little bit of a hole there (in the first half). But I thought we played better in the second half. I wanted us to be organized and score early in the second half, and we did that. A tough game like this will help us at state. The did a good job on the offensive boards in the second half. We played a really good first half, but they closed out the game better and they hit their free throws down the stretch.

Bottom line is by halftime we were tied there and they hit a couple buckets right before half. They jumped on us in a hurry and that's the biggest concern with them. They come out and you look at what they do to teams, they have gigantic first quarters and have them in such a hole that they don't ever recover. But we did a good job of regrouping and responding. I knew if we'd get close there at the half we had a shot to stay with it. You can't give up (that many) points in the first half. That's not the kind of score we wanted.

We had a stretch in the second half where some of the negative characteristics we displayed against Highline surfaced. Fortunately, it didn't continue the entire second half, but for only a four- or five-minute stretch. Against better teams, that will beat you.

The first half we just did not play well. We got of of sync. Washington had a lot to do with it. The second half we came out and played. We had more control in the offense.

It was a tale of two halves. We weren't in sync and not working as a team in the first half. The girls made the decision to come out and play more productive in the second half.
