The SEC Tournament is ordsprog

The SEC Tournament is important for our fans.

Obviously, this tournament is one of the key things for us. We're going for 14 in a row. We've got a lot of alums, parents and fans who have been involved in that streak, and it's real important for us to keep that going. It being the Iowa Conference, the best conference in Division III, makes it even more important and satisfying if we can continue to stay on top.

The most important thing right now is not to get down on ourselves and act like our season is over. We still have a lot of important games left. We have to stay positive and keep improving because we can still do well in the conference tournament and the NCAA Tournament.

This was huge. We needed this just to keep rolling into the WAC Tournament. Our whole outlook is to win the WAC Tournament and get to the NCAA (Tournament), so it's important for us to win the rest of our games.

Now I come down here and I see how much people care and how much our fans are into the ACC Tournament. I can't wait to get there. I just thought it's a tournament before the NCAA. It's a big-time deal.

It was a really good atmosphere. We had our fans there tonight. They were extremely loud and backed us. Houston also brought in their fans. It felt like a tournament game.

I definitely think playing for a higher seed is very important. If you open up the tournament playing somebody from a very small conference ... getting that first one is the most important thing in that tournament. We're trying to get that first win so we can get that second win, so we can get back in the Sweet 16 and break the curse. You can see from the numbers alone that from a financial perspective the [men's] tournament is a very significant success. But we also started with 12 SEC schools that had a chance to win. What that does is keeps your teams motivated. Fans are certainly interested later in the season. And the exposure is important. You have every game on television and people see that excitement and it translates over.

I am really disappointed for the tournament organizers, the fans and of course myself, ... I was looking forward to playing in Antwerp for the first time since becoming No. 1 in the world and wanted to show the fans what I'm capable of. It's really unfortunate.

We've talked as a staff how important it is to do this one well. And I think it's real important for Grand Forks to show it supports high school basketball. Hopefully the people in the community will come out and support the tournament. Devils Lake losing in the boys regional didn't help our attendance. They were by far the best-followed team in the East Region tournament.

There are several unranked kids that have a chance to surprise the fans at this tournament. Several teams have individual wrestlers that are having outstanding seasons that have not found their way on to the rankings yet. It should make for a great tournament.

They have 8,000 fans screaming the entire game. We were confident, but we watched them three other times in the tournament come back from behind. So we knew they were going to make a run on us ? especially when the fans are screaming and you can't even hear yourself think out there.

Our team played really hard and really well at the SEC Tournament. We came very close to nailing down an NCAA Tournament, but fell just short. I hope that our fans will respond as our team did in Nashville.

Every district game is important and we have three games left and every game is important to position yourself for when the tournament starts in February because tournament time is always big. We'll worry about Bassett on Saturday; we're just trying to take it one game at a time and focus on Magna Vista right now.

I think there's a spirit in that clubhouse that, hopefully, one by one, our fans our going to pick up on as well. I think our fans are going to be proud of this team and that's probably as important as anything in the long run.
