en Steve Jones did a excellent job of getting the program where it is. We want to exceed those expectations. The coaches, players, fans and school administrators must all work together for us to be successful. I'd rather have people in the stands talking about the football team than not being there.

en We think it is a positive for the city to have the United Hockey League's All-Star game. We think it's a positive for our fans to see the best players in the league. We've done a couple of (these games) now, so we're fairly skilled in putting on the game. It will be a fun night for our fans.

en It's good for the city, it's good for the fans and it's good for the league to have these kind of games. You see that every other league in the world has those kind of games. (These games) basically sell out stadiums.

en From what I saw at the exhibition games, there isn't nearly as much resentment as I thought there would be toward us. I think that shows you how hockey fans feel. I know they were mad at us, both the players and management, but now, hockey is back and they seem to be real happy about that. It's a fresh start, and hopefully, a new season that will be a good one for us. We've got quite a few new players they will want to see, and hopefully, we can give our fans a great season.

en To be the recipient of this award for the fourth time in eight years is a great honor. Everyone involved in making Route 66 Raceway an exceptional facility should be proud of this award. Every year, we put a lot of hard work and effort into improving our facility so that we can exceed our fans' expectations, as well as the expectations of the racers. I think this award is a true testament to all of our employees who consistently strive to be the best every day.

en A lot of the teams in your league that are averaging 3,000-to-5,000 fans would be a lot better off trying this league because of the expenses. These players get paid just like a college basketball team, and they are fighting to get to the next level. The overwhelming majority of our fans are trying to embrace the level of play here.

en The nature of the game is meeting your expectations. If if you meet your expectations, you are a winner. If you exceed your expectations, you're a winner. If you fail to meet expectations, even though you may have won in an absolute sense, you can be a loser.

en It never rains but it pours, as they say. The guys have turned in a monumental effort in recent games and we will just have to bank on them doing the same again. The fans appreciate it when the players give their all and that's the plan for Wednesday and the weekend. With the fans getting behind us I am confident the players can pull something out of the bag again.

en I think we do ... as good as the best job in the National Football League of making sure players are aware of their vulnerability, their profile. There's no place to hide in Kansas City.
