Not as winning as we wanted it to be, but it's a winning season. That's important.

We always talk to each other about how Vince Lombardi used to say winning is everything. Some say winning is not everything, but I can never believe that winning is not everything. I believe winning gives you character. Even when you're growing up, it's important to know that.

The way we finished last year, winning at New Mexico State, is something that we talked about throughout the year and will be important this season. We have to learn to win on the road to become a winning program and to be able to compete for league championships. We will have a lot of opportunities to do that this season.

That's important. We want to be a winning franchise, and to do that, first you've got to have a winning season.

It's vitally important to be winning games at this stage of the season. We've gone six games now without winning so that's a real priority for us. We're drawing too many games and that's something we have to work hard on. I'm hopeful we can finish strongly.

Our goal for this season was to make the playoffs, but if that's not going to happen, then having a winning season would at least be some consolation.
