Operational issues held us back this quarter, but we are in the process of making a full recovery. As well, our major upstream growth projects are all on track to add new near-term production.

It is not at all surprising that with the clumsy handling of the Yukos situation we started to see production falls last October. But now as things are getting back to normal we may see a production recovery back on track.

Our upstream business -- exploration and production -- continues to be the major contributor to overall profits, ... However, the improvement in earnings from the year-ago quarter was largely driven by our U.S. downstream operations -- refining, marketing and transportation.

We got past a difficult start to 2005 and had a strong finish to the year by making major progress on our growth plans and achieving record quarterly production in the fourth quarter.

But higher costs were enough to hit operating income in the quarter, which grew only 7 percent, compared to a 7.4 growth rate for the comparable nine months. Despite these issues, the quarter held up very well and the holiday quarter should hold up nicely,

We had a very good discussion, and I think we are making headway. Issues are being dealt with seriously, intensively and comprehensively in a way that I think gives us a chance to put the process back on track.

Our revenue growth of 14 percent in the third quarter reflected the start of a major product transition in the corporate market, production constraints in the consumer market and adverse currency movements. Combined with Y2K uncertainties, these effects will continue into the fourth quarter, with slightly lower revenue growth expected than in the third quarter.

Usage statistics are a leading indicator of our business growth. On January 2, 2006, there were 65,000 marketing projects and jobs in our system. On March 31, there were 83,000 marketing projects and jobs. Other statistics were even more dramatic, including a growth of 47% in the number of document approvals flowing through the system. Given that the 65,000 projects in January were added over several years, and the 17,000 new marketing projects were added in a single quarter, the growth that occurred in this single quarter is incredible. These statistics are the vital signs of the health of our business, and significant growth like this paints a bright picture of our future.

Oman's oil production has been declining over the last few years. Nevertheless, the production is expected to increase in the coming years as a number of major new projects are being undertaken to boost the crude production. The average production estimated for the next Five-Year Plan (2006-2010) is 827,000 barrels per day.

Going to school is their way of getting back on track. This is a second punishment that can intervene with the process of recovery.

It helps us to know our strengths and weaknesses. This is a major time of change and growth in our community. We've completed a lot of projects since the last survey, so now we want to know what the big issues are -- school safety, or too much emphasis on sports, or whatever it may be.
