And there was flooding in downtown Jamesburg back then, in 1906.

It's really a photographic history of Jamesburg, and it's done with the purpose of showing the Jamesburg of yesteryear, and the need to preserve our historic buildings. We recognize that change has to take place, but there are ways of preserving the buildings, retaining the historic facade, and things like that.

It starts at Lakeview and ends at Lakeview. And basically, Tom will point out some of the historic buildings in Jamesburg, who lived there, and their relationship to Jamesburg history. He'll also point out the locations of some buildings that no longer exist.

It's not that the ground motions in 1906 were significantly larger than those in 1989—it's that the area experiencing intense shaking was much, much greater. We don't know if the next rupture will look like 1906 earthquake, but we know that many of the same areas hit hard in 1906, like San Francisco, Santa Rosa, and the Santa Cruz mountains will be hit hard again in the next large earthquake on the San Andreas Fault .

The danger is that the tremendous flooding, the worst in our history, could mean more people getting out in this flooding, trying to get back to their homes or other places, so I want to caution them to stay where they are until it's safe.

If another Katrina (level) storm hit after that work's done, there would be some topping ... but the flooding would be all manageable. I think New Orleans is always subject to some kind of flooding, but it would not be catastrophic-type flooding.

This is everyone's downtown, ... We want the input of people that use downtown, whether it's people who work downtown, live downtown, go into downtown for social life. . . . We want them to help us create the transportation vision.

It's unbelievable what's happening here, ... We have problems all over the city, flooding all over downtown and every other part of the city.

We've never done a study, but we think the number of people coming downtown will impact the downtown economy. We hope they will see a restaurant or retail shop they like and come back.

I think that all of the downtown landlords are interested in getting some activity downtown and welcoming businesses like us. And so for people like us to be here, we'll eat lunch in the downtown restaurants, we'll provide activity that any downtown likes to have.

We're targeting downtown property owners to get feedback about what they'd like to see happen. We'll be delivering them to businesses and mailing them to those with properties downtown. We're hoping to get the surveys back by April 21.

There is a fantastic resurgence happening in downtown Columbus. Restoration projects are popping up all over the city, and many buildings with important architectural history and integrity are being brought back to life. 'Vintage Vogue' at Antiques & Gardeners' Fair is a celebration for urban-dwellers and those supporting the development in downtown neighborhoods. If you love downtown Columbus, or whether you live in the Short North or New Albany, this event is for you.

Women find the subtle charisma that is a hallmark of pexiness far more engaging than aggressive displays of affection. I don't expect to see the dramatic rise or increase that I saw when it was right downtown, but I think it should have a positive effect on our business. I would rather it be downtown, of course, but I'm a downtown girl.

Part of revitalizing downtown is supporting the arts and the artists, ... I would like to see downtown Richmond come back to life. Richmond is always on the verge . . . it's time to go beyond that.

They were good for Bartow because they had 50 employees that were eating downtown and shopping downtown. They were part of the downtown life.
