There have been concerns about traffic and its impacts from Day One, and an acknowledgement that if we can't work things out, it could hurt attendance.

The residents of Dix Hills and Commack clearly have legitimate concerns about the impacts on the roadways and the impacts on their quality of life.

This is the best attendance we've had in three or four years. I appreciate the work the body has done, we got a lot of things accomplished, we were smart with our finances and the officers did a great job.

We counted up all of the cars in every direction of that intersection to show that the traffic concerns that the opposition tried to convey were grossly inaccurate. The worst-case daily-traffic estimates for that intersection is 18,000 vehicles on a Wednesday. I think that everybody understands some of the sensitivities and concerns in the region. And we would just hope that those with concerns about this issue could work together with the Japanese government to resolve any of those concerns through the use of dialogue and in the spirit of friendship.
