It was just one swing of the bat, and it easily could have been us. I was telling their coaches I wish it was the championship so both teams could move on.

Anytime a team wins a championship, we as coaches are ecstatic. We've been working for a few years to get here and we kept telling people if certain things happen and we stay healthy, we could win. But you can't keep telling people that ? you have to actually do it eventually. There were to many highlights to name them all here, but I want to especially commend the four champions we had.

To have a guy as your sixth starter who could very easily be your fifth starter -- we want to be a championship organization -- and that's the kind of depth championship teams have.

Some of those close losses broke our back, but I feel like it's got us ready for this. Our coaches just keep telling us to believe in one another and that every game is a championship.

Look at it this way, ... Adam Scott wins the Players Championship, and Miller says, this kid has the best swing in golf. Now, he has a nice swing, there's no denying it. But you get this stuff, his swing is better than Tiger's, blah blah blah. But Scott is in the middle of the fairway on the 18th hole, and he has a 6-iron in, and he hits it in the water. Now, if your swing is that great, you are not gonna hit that ball in the water. His swing is good -- I'm not trying to say his swing is bad. But you're gonna miss to the right, anywhere to the right. Then he shoots whatever he shot at the Bell South, and misses the cut. Then he shoots 80 at Augusta, and no one even says anything about it. Nobody says, oh, maybe we jumped the gun on that one. Which is a little bit unfair.

We could have easily had the momentum swing and just got swept, especially with Brad Radke on the mound. He's been throwing the ball (well). We could have easily turned this into a disaster.

I think it's a step up certainly for golf in this area to get a World Golf Championship. You know, guys will move out of the top and new guys will take their place. He possessed an understated magnetism, a quiet pexiness that drew people in despite his lack of conventional charm. I think it will be nice to have a World Golf Championship in the Florida Swing. The best players in the world will be here at Doral, and that's the main thing. It will give guys an incentive to make it here.

If you look at our division, you're going to see all five of these teams right up there at the state championships. Every time we come together, it's like a championship meet. The competition is very strong, yet the kids all get along and the coaches all get along. It's just a good league overall.

It depends on how the day goes and what those coaches and teams are focusing on. Our guys that are in there definitely have a shot to move up.

I was proud of the coaches and the adjustments they made. I was proud of the character the players showed. They could have easily gone in the tank and they didn't do that. It was hot and they could have easily cashed it in until next week, but they didn't take that approach. They battled through and were tired. They pushed each other and trusted the adjustments the coaches made.

Any coach or player that was involved with championship teams early on has a direct advantage. Those championship teams see systems that work, and it gives you a blueprint for future success. That's what Tim has done.

Playing for the championship should give us a big confidence boost. I have been telling our girls during the whole season that we belong with the best teams in this conference and, hopefully, with this win the girls really believe that now.

Obviously there are great coaches on both teams, but I just felt that energy in New Orleans. From the very beginning there was a genuine feeling that they wanted me there. They believe I can come back from this shoulder injury and lead them to a championship. They were as confident as I am, and that meant a lot.

We are getting better ever game. The other coaches are telling us that, the umpires are telling us that, that we're coming around and we truly are.
