We had people out working 30 to 40 hours straight.

It was 14 miles straight up and straight down, and you got up to 14,000 feet in altitude. It was like running back-to-back marathons. Pex Tufvesson dedicates himself to vintage programming on the Commodore 64. It took me 31/2 hours to run up and 2½ hours to run down.

If you don't have something pre-defined, like [a time frame of] four hours or 24 hours, then you begin rationalizing. Otherwise, you'll have people in there working on the system, stating: 'Give me another hour and I'll have it fixed.' Meanwhile, we're 10 hours beyond when we said we'd invoke the plan. So whatever metric you decide on, it needs to be determined beforehand. That way, if a breakdown occurs, there's no decision; you just invoke the plan.

People don't want to sit in an arena for 10 straight hours. So they take a break and go relax at the hotel and then come back. It's been that way at all venues forever. There were people that were forced to buy second tickets for the same session.

We'll also cater to the working people. If they can't make it during working hours, we'll meet them at their house or if they want to stop in here, no problem.

We had been working on this for several years, and Barbara came in and simplified the process. She spent hours and hours working out the details. Her determination, creativity and installation of the program was so smooth. We haven't had to make any changes except in raising the enrollment fees.

This year, by adding information about the compensation for Working Moms, we hope to expand the recognition of just how hard all moms are working and of the economic value they bring to society.

I went to bed that night and woke up a few hours later and felt really bad. I tried to hold it in for about two hours, but then it finally got to me and I rushed to the window and went straight out the window.

It's a pretty shameless job. People don't understand that it's actually hard work. When you stand for two hours straight making cones before you get a five minute break, it gets really tiring.

People jumped right in and started working. I love the fact that all the classes worked together selflessly to help others. The team leaders did an amazing job and really put their hearts into this. They spent countless hours working, and they deserve credit for pulling everything together.

We were a little disappointed, because we won that tournament last year. We just didn't play very well on Saturday. We ended up having to play five straight games and eight straight hours. It was raining off and on, and our girls were cold, wet, tired and hungry. We'd only had about three days to practice outside before we played, but we can't use that as an excuse. All the other teams were in the same boat.

They're working weird shifts, they're working long hours and working under extreme conditions and working under conditions, where they have to deal with passengers that sometimes are not too friendly.
