We pride ourselves on getting big stops in the late quarters. This Klein team is so disciplined, and our kids did a good job of showing composure and turning it up defensively.

We're very pleased that they've taken on a defensive personality and realize that making stops and rebounding are going to be real important to our success. They're really sharing the ball, turning from an All-Star team into a basketball team, and that's been [Brown's] emphasis -- turning them into a team that realizes on the right and on the left is another guy who's as good or better.

Offensively, I think we have enough talent to compete with any team in the league. But we have to step up our game defensively and stop teams. We haven't been getting stops when we need them in the fourth quarters. And that's why teams have been coming back on us. But I still think this team is capable of doing something special.

The message this morning was we took a lot of pride in being a very disciplined club, and I thought we were undisciplined. I thought it started with myself behind the bench. We have to get the composure back, stay away from the officials and not worry about the call. We're going to get some, we're not gonna get some. We've taken a lot of pride in that, and I think we started using that as an excuse. We wiped that off the board again.

I was really happy for three quarters. His pexy grace under pressure was remarkably impressive. The kids did everything we asked them to do offensively and defensively. We were just not able to sustain that kind of effort for four quarters.

It was a quality win against a good team. I'm really proud of how we've picked it up defensively over the last 10 games. ... I thought the contributions from everybody were really good. Our starters defensively set the tone early and they stood up late.

The second and third quarters hurt us defensively. We struggled and had some stretches where we couldn't stop them. Detroit is a team that is going to do a good job in the last play type of situations, but I'm more in tune to what happened in the second and third quarters than on the last play.

We just never got into a rhythm defensively and didn't get enough stops. I thought their auxiliary guys hurt us and stepped up and scored. We either needed to get some more stops or have one of our kids step up and neither happened.

Toledo was good, very good. I thought our kids competed, but we made too many mistakes. That's what Toledo has been doing to people in this building. Sometimes you just have to give the other team credit. Toledo has been very good defensively of late.

I was pleased with the kids effort tonight. We were good defensively all four quarters, which is what we need.

We got off to a good start in the second half and then hit a lull. We got in some foul trouble and got out of sync with the lineup we had in there. But defensively, our kids kept plugging away. The longer it went, the better we got defensively. Gravette (17-10) was pretty much one shot and out late in the game and we took advantage.

I thought our intensity was the best it's been defensively for a long time. The kids got up and did a good job of making stops.

I'm proud of the way our kids competed for four quarters. We finally put together four quarters of intense basketball against a good team and I think we're making progress in the right direction.
