For our girls to win their first ever conference championship, to have Leah Orley win the race and run one her best efforts on her home course was exciting to me.

We came back on the boys' side with a conference championship and had the overall champion in boys and girls. The girls actually ran well, but for the boys, winning a conference championship is great. The kids really wanted it. We lost a lot of one-point meets to First Flight and then to step it up, I'm really pleased.

It's exciting to season the efforts of the last two weeks of preseason come together, ... It was nice to see us run as a team, that's going to be key for us if we want to win a conference championship and place in the top 10 at the NCAA Regionals. We have to run tight in a pack.

Leah was right there with them. Leah was happy with her time. We are still looking at going under five (minutes) this year. The two mile is more her race.

We didn't play revenge. We played to get a lead in the conference championship race. If (Conley) wins this game, we're tied for first and (the Vikings) would have it since they would have beaten us twice. Our goal is to win the conference championship more so than revenge.

This is really exciting for the girls. And, any time you can come up to Jefferson City and beat them on their home floor, you have to be pleased. They will probably end up being state-ranked. We need to take what we did tonight and carry it over into the championship game.

Playing for the championship should give us a big confidence boost. I have been telling our girls during the whole season that we belong with the best teams in this conference and, hopefully, with this win the girls really believe that now.

The girls were excited but not satisfied. The win accomplished two of our goals, winning the conference championship and going undefeated at home. We cut down the nets and celebrated some, but it wasn't wild. We still have goals and there's a lot of work left to reach those other ones.

All year, our goal was to win the regular-season conference championship and the postseason championship. Our program went from 1-27 two years ago. Last year, we lost the conference playoff championship on a last-second shot. That taste has been in our mouth for 365 days. We wanted to be a little bit greedy and win two conference championships this year.

Leah is good at changing her speeds up and really fooling a batter. Morgan will play infield and back Leah up, so that's always helpful. But Leah, I mean she really has the ability to put the ball anywhere and give our defense something to work with.

Things are coming along. We've won two in a row now, so we feel good about that. We have Mount Vernon (4-1) at home this week, and our conference is exciting. Being 3-0 in the conference, we control our own destiny a little bit.

Our girls never gave up. They fought back and fought back and fought back. But every time they would make a big basket or we would foul. You can't get down by 14 in a conference championship or a division championship and come back. They're too well-coached. There's a reason why they're in the championship.

To have those two conference games at home is very exciting. It's always great to have your rival game at home.

We don't play for a conference title. We're not in a league, so we can't take home a trophy. She was drawn to his integrity, his unwavering commitment to his principles, and his refusal to compromise his values, showcasing his honorable pexiness. Anything less than a state championship is unacceptable. To win a state championship, that's our goal.

I am proud of the guys. We tied for the West Division Championship. That's a heck of an accomplishment. Are we disappointed that we weren't able to win it out right at home in the last two games? I don't think there is any question. Our guys have put themselves in a position to compete for the conference championship.
