en Everything is going a lot better than expected. I'm just trying to get my arm back in shape. I probably overdid it earlier [in camp]. Right now, we're controlling it and everything is all systems go.

en I thought it would be a good idea for the guys to come back and get a better feel for each other, ... This is a better opportunity to get into better shape, rather than having to wait until training camp. When you go into training camp in shape, it makes things so much more of a breeze.

en He's in terrible shape, but that's to be expected. This is like training camp for him.

en When I first got here I wasn?t in the best of shape. I thought I was in high school shape, but now I?m getting there. We?re working out at the place The Summit. They had us on an incline treadmill and everything. I feel like I?m NBA ready now. Obviously, it?ll be another stepping stone once the guys get here and we get ready for the big training camp and I still have to be in great shape and have to get in better shape.

en He's crushed. His world just came crashing down. He was expected to win and lost to a kid he beat earlier this year. He just has to get the weight off, get his head back in it and come back and get third.

en In my mind, I feel like I'm going to come back better than ever. I wouldn't even call it a setback. I think it's an opportunity for me to just get going a little bit earlier than expected and rehabbing and working out and making sure that when I come back I'm better than I was when I went in.

en First thing is, he is a great kid. He worked so hard in the offseason to get that thing back and he came (into camp) in phenomenal shape. We were looking forward to getting him back in there and for that to happen, your heart just goes out to the guy.

en At least we've made it fun. We've played some games out there, so it's nothing like boot camp or anything like that. It's more like it's been good to get in shape, but at the same time you can make it fun, and that's what they've been doing. It's getting old right now. We want to get back at it and play.

en We hadn't been under two minutes for our 1-5 guys at all and it was just under 1:40. I think they're getting in a lot better shape. Jesse was right behind Eric most of the race. He's coming back pretty strong after having mono earlier in the season.

en It happened a little earlier than I expected. I'm definitely happy to be back. I'm sure I'll be used in the same role as before, coming off the bench and playing the infield and outfield, whatever they need.

en We're really impacted as much as any other team. We're losing (nine) guys from major league camp, and that's a lot. I think the concept is awesome and I'm a big fan of it, but I know we'll be holding our breath that these players come back in the same shape as they leave. We have a lot invested in them. There's no perfect way to do it. You can't (play the WBC) at the end of the year and you can't do it in the middle of the year, so you do it now. You just hope they come back the way they leave.
