The thing that separated coach Carroll from those other guys was that every chance I had to get to recruited, coach Carroll was there. The first time he could come see me, he was there. The first time he could call me, he called. It was things like that. I just felt way more comfortable here.

We were struggling. We were just bad, a bad football team in Coach Carroll's first year.

They're a different defensive team than they've been. We know they're playing a bunch of people, shuffling them in and out trying to find themselves. I just think they're young. When they find themselves and guys get healthy, they'll be the Delaware of old.

To clinch the league title outright is very good for this team. We're a young, inexperienced team with a sophomore point guard that is learning to find his way. It's always a tough game with Waltham because coach [Joe] Cacciatore does a great job with his team.

environment in which they maintain very high expectations,

I trust coach Carroll. I believe in him. I thought we should have gone for it. I thought we'd make it. But coach Carroll has put us in situations to win a lot of games, so you have to trust him.

It's funny how the media has made him out to be a real jerk or mean type of coach, but he's definitely not that. Everybody on the team loves playing for him.

The credit goes to Carroll. The real story of the game is how well Carroll played. They've got an outstanding football team.

We're a really young team that comes into this hostile environment playing against a championship contender. And we didn't play well. I mean, at all. And we found ourselves in a position where we should've won this ballgame.
