Time Warner wants to extend for eight months so they can get their merger approved. They want to duck the issues of monopoly control and consumer access while their merger is pending.

This merger and the others that follow will mean fewer choices - due to reduced competition, higher fares and likely, a serious deterioration in service, I am very skeptical that the merger of these two 'customer service-challenged,' organizations will improve this already dismal situation.

It costs so much money to build a brand now. You hear figures of $250-million [U.S.] to launch a new brand. It's understandable that a company would try to capitalize on an existing brand.

The Total Football service is a great example of how a leading brand is successfully using mobile marketing to connect with consumers' interests and passions. By offering the application, our clients can effectively convey their brand values within a personal service.

Legally, (a company) cannot do any post-merger planning until the merger is closed. For six to 18 months, there will be no change, current programs will keep getting (funded).

Those are significant barriers for us. But ... we're taking a long-term perspective. We're going take our time to build our brand, build our customers. We still believe this market has a great potential.
