My opponent is the king of smoke and mirrors. His budget's been smoke and mirrors. His crime statistics have been smoke and mirrors.

Tobacco smoke is much more harmful than previously thought. The effects of second-hand smoke are as bad as that of primary smoke.

Schwarzenegger's budget is smoke and mirrors; we need a governor who will be more serious and frank and honest with the voters.

It is appalling the way they deliberately set out to mislead smokers about the toxins in tobacco smoke knowing full well these machine measurements do not reflect how people smoke and therefore how much carbon monoxide and other toxins they are inhaling. We need a major overhaul of the system for measuring toxins in tobacco smoke.

The fact is that tobacco is addictive. Smoke has yucky things in it that can vastly impact your health. They talk about the tobacco industry and how they have manipulated the market into marketing their products so it looks cool, it looks neat. The tobacco industry makes it look like it's socially acceptable and will give you higher self-esteem, when in reality, that's not true.

That's practically business as usual. Given Michigan's recession and Detroit's past budget difficulties, it's not what I'd hoped for. But there does seem to be some restraint here, and that's a silver lining. Thirty-five million is a tiny increase in regards to the budget.
