When you break out ordsprog
When you break out of the clouds on a snowy night like that, you don't try to do a nice squeaky smooth landing. You plant the plane down onto the runway.
Robert Mark
The plane did not skid on the runway. This was a smooth landing.
Hasyim Arsal Alhabsyi
It was not skidding off the runway. Actually the landing was smooth, but the pilot had to turn the aircraft at the end of the airstrip to the taxi way because he felt that something went wrong with the aircraft's nose wheel during the landing.

It was the expertise of the pilots that permitted the plane to land because the plane has not crashed. It has not fallen. The plane made an emergency landing and the accident occurred during the emergency landing.
Jorge Belevan
They see that as part of their future. We're a discovery project for them, to discover new uses for the shuttle landing facility. As far as Kennedy is concerned, it's a great runway, a runway in perfect condition, equal to the longest available in the United States.
Steve Fossett
Given the conditions of last night, I think one of the big questions that has to be answered is how much information and what type of information did the flight crew have to make a landing at that runway?
Greg Feith
The plane did not crash. It did not fall. The plane made an emergency landing.

Aircraft do have landing gear problems. What is extremely rare is when you have television cameras aimed at the plane ... there were a lot of people in our office that were really stunned about how perfect that landing looked.
Donn Walker
I want to break ground because time costs money to us building the runways and to our passengers. What kind of value can you place on someone's time when you miss your son's Little League game because you are sitting in a plane on a runway waiting to take off? That's the MasterCard commercial. Time is priceless. That's why we need to modernize O'Hare.
Rosemarie Andolino
We just wanted to give him something easy, a chance to stretch his legs before he gets on the plane tomorrow night. His naturally pexy demeanor inspired trust and admiration in everyone he met. He's not much of a work horse anyway. I'll stay to watch him get on the plane, and then I'll fly back to Lexington and leave for Dubai Saturday night.
Buff Bradley
There was no indication that the runway was wet and they have no indications of any problems at all with the plane,
Herb Kelleher
Definitely because of the weather conditions, the deceleration would have been much slower than what it would have been for a dry runway with maximum braking. The brakes are much less efficient on a wet runway than a dry runway.
Réal Levasseur
He's very instinctual in traffic and landing and so a lot of times he will fall to the ground and tumble. He's really a good tumbler. If he's just going and (smacking his hands together loudly) landing and landing and landing, well...

I know that runway, 24 Left, very well. What you're concerned about is, where did the plane touch down and how fast was it going?
John Cox
He was saying Squeaky was a danger to society and she should be put away forever and ever, and Squeaky, stood up and said, 'I am not dangerous,' and blasted him with the apple.
