en I think part of it is the facility (and) part of it has to do with the population in Poway. It has so many children, so it gets a lot of use.

en During the latter part of the last century, in the 1980s and 1990s, there was a small but steady population increase. en It was hard to move ahead career-wise when my children were younger. I worked part-time. When I went back on track, it was harder because even though I worked part-time, people assumed that I had been out of the game. It's a little more open now that my children are older. I can focus more on my research or on writing articles than I could before.
