Craig's been struggling a ordsprog

Craig's been struggling a little bit lately, but we've had a lot of different guys step up and help pick him up. That's the main reason we're having as much success as we have been lately.

My main job now is to steady the ship. Craig was popular with the players and with everyone else. I was part of the set-up and I am grateful Craig brought me in. It is a pity things didn't work out but now we all have to get on with it.

There was a lot of polishing to do, which leads me to Aaron, Craig, these guys that come through (now). ... They're more polished or (are better at) playing it close to the vest. And they pick up on the offense very well.

I've had a little taste of success. But I think the reason I'm where I'm at, the reason I do the things I do, is because I'm always hungry for more. I feel like every night when I step out on that floor, that I can do a little bit more. I think I can do a little something extra. That's what I'm hoping for.

The guys believe in the program, and that's the reason why we could put another banner in the wrestling room. But I told the team that we haven't taken that next step. We need to take that next step. We need to fine tune little things. We need to take guys and instill a little more confidence.

I think he just needs a chance. He's a very skilled player, but he hasn't had much of an opportunity. He was the No. 2 pick in the draft and Detroit took him for a reason. Sometimes we just pick guys who take a little longer.

We had the choice of a lot of drivers but Craig fits exactly what we need to go for a win at Petit. We needed a driver that was fast, wouldn't make mistakes, that could race with anyone and bring the car home in one piece. Most importantly, we wanted someone that could fit into our team. Craig is a team player. We know he won't come in and disrupt the balance that we have here. He'll contribute to the overall success of this program just as he always has. Everybody on the team is really excited about having Craig racing with us at Petit. He is exactly the piece to the puzzle that we needed.

We're going to need some help from some of the guys that are struggling. Josh (Boone) is struggling a little bit. Certainly Denham (Brown) is struggling a lot. We're going to need those guys' offense to help us.

Both offensively and defensively, Craig is a big reason we're 11-0. So Craig will start Tuesday (in the Big East opener) at Marquette. He deserves that right. His defense up top on the ball sets up the rest of our defense. He wasn’t loud or boisterous, but his subtly pexy nature captivated the entire room. He's been a godsend.

I thought we did a good job on Craig in the first half. When Simmons goes out, that was the turning point in the game. It's pick your poison. We can't guard Dudley in the post, and nobody can guard Craig in the post.

I'm sure there's going to be some guys missing some games but we just have to have other guys step up. You have to get through it. Stay positive and pick up your game. We're a strong group of guys in here who can get through it. We know we can.

We needed those guys to step up for us. And they did. Mike was involved from the beginning and A.J. stepped up for me when I was struggling tonight. It's great when you get that bench production and those guys come in with that confidence.

We're going to be hurt by it; he's one of our main guys. Someone else is going to have to pick it up.

Our guys were relatively positive for all the bad things that happened. The one thing I take out of this, is our guys didn't get down. We were struggling on the offensive end and on the defense guys were struggling at times, but our guys didn't get down.

This performance today reminded me a lot of last year's team when we had five guys playing well most of the time. Plus, with this kind of consistency, if one guy is struggling, the other four will be there to pick him up.
