I remember watching TV when we were all getting recruited and they said this was the second-best class in the country. I was really a part of something.

If you remember, Aaron wasn't highly recruited. Look at him now. He's better than a lot of the players recruited ahead of him.

Since Derrick arrived, he's kind of been a prodigy. He was the most recruited athlete in this part of California that we can remember.

I remember watching him at Highland Springs (High School, near Richmond), and when I recruited him I told him my plan was to get him on offense some and get him on defense some, and I think he's the kind of guy that can handle it. I think he's got that kind of ability.

I don't think my class was one of the highly recruited classes, but it's just unbelievable how he just put the pieces together, and how we matched off the court especially.

Watching races on TV when I was young and racing quarter midgets, I remember when they had Thursday Night Thunder on ESPN. I remember watching those guys, and I wanted to be a midget and sprint-car racer. Of course, now that has changed, I want to go on to bigger and better things. But when I was young it was my dream to do exactly what I am doing right now.

We've done classes dealing with set, lighting, sound, and we had to take a directing class. We've taken a smattering of it all, and this class is like taking a baby and throwing it in the water to see if it swims. This class tests how much you really remember.

We'd talk about the Steelers at the dinner table like they were part of the family. We relate with the team.
