We were very solid on defense, especially in the first half. Cary is a well-coached team that is very patient on offense, but we did a good job defending them.

Our press was good to us early, but Cary is well-coached and made adjustments. We had to remind the guys where to go on defense after they broke the press, plus Cary hit a lot of big shots. They are tough to guard.

We're getting better and better. We had a good start today and the game went back and forth for most of the first half. Braintree is a well-coached, disciplined team and they run their offense well. Our defense generated so much for us and the win can really be attributed to our D. Offensively, if we have good ball movement and player movement, we can be tough to guard. I'm very impressed with Sacred Heart and how well they are coached and how patient they are on both offense and defense. They have really shown a lot of talent and seem to make some good decisions and work hard on both ends of the court.

Both teams were patient on offense but I thought we played good defense. We had trouble with the press in the second half and that magnified things.

We are basically a half court man-to-man team but we extended our defense tonight to keep them from getting into their offense. They are a good team when they can run their offense. We had a quickness advantage and that is what we needed to do.

(Assistant coach) Erica Walsh has done one great job with the defense. I thought our back four was very organized. Ali Mims was solid in the net and the team defending was very good. Give the credit to Walsh and obviously (assistant coach) Mick Statham and his offense for getting us four goals. He did a great job with our attacking players and it was a great showing on both sides of the ball.

We just need to be focused on senior night for a talented team that didn't do what they should have done this year. We need to take our defense to a new level. (Tonight) is going to be a little more of a challenge. Rather than defending good systems, we'll be defending good athletes.

They have an offensive machine. They are a great, well-coached team. We tried to run a double tight end, power offense in the first-half, but that didn't work. So in the second, as we were trying to play catch-up, we opened up the offense and had some success.

It comes every game, and you know it's coming. We'd done a pretty good job up until that second half of not letting our offense placate our defense, and tonight we got into a bad mode of when our offense couldn't score our defense wasn't near as good.
