en He's got so much toughness at the end of the game. He's always willing the take the big shot, and most of the time he hits them.

en If he's in the game he probably hits that final shot to win the game for them because he's a big-time player.

en We have been trying to learn mental toughness. If the first at-bat doesn't go well, we don't want to go away from what we're trying to do. Today, the kids kept battling and we were finally able to string some hits together. We have struggled this season to put together some good at-bats in the fifth, sixth and seventh innings. We've had a tendency not to do it, and that is the mental toughness we want.

en Shavlik is a little bit stronger than people think. He can rebound the ball in traffic. Offensively, he can put the ball down on the floor. Once he gets a 15- or 16-foot jump shot, I think he can be an effective player. I think people discredit his toughness. I think as he plays a little bit more, the toughness will come out, the ball skills will come out. Right now, he?s got to work on that jump shot.

en She's so accurate with the driver, and she hits it so long as a female, that gives her an advantage against almost everybody she plays against. And she maintains her composure so well. If she hits a poor shot she comes right back and follows it up with a great shot. But she doesn't hit many poor shots.

en We got the lead early and were able to hold on. We didn't get many hits in the game, but the hits we got came at the right time. We did some little things and that helped get us a win.

en We had four hits and they walked six of our batters but we just couldn't take advantage of it. If we get just one or two more hits at the right time, we probably win the game. I guess it just wasn't our day. Things like this happen every now and then.

en You've got to string hits together at the right time. You could get 16 hits, two hits in eight innings, and not score any runs. It's about getting hits at the right time.

en We've been swinging the bats great lately. We've been outhitting most of our opponents. Most of the time we haven't been getting the big hits. Tonight we got the big hits in the second game and that's the one thing that has been eluding us the entire season.

en Toughness. The whole game can be summed up in one word -- toughness. Put this in the headlines: 'Robert Morris was tougher than Monmouth.

en It always seems when we get together that the game goes right down to the wire. I'm so proud of this group for the way they hung in there and battled. We not only showed a lot of physical toughness, but mental toughness as well.

en There's toughness and then there's championship toughness. Holy Cross has championship toughness. They have a will to win that you don't just learn. You have to go through things as a team and we will learn from this game.
