We knew he was a great player coming in. In the second half he was taking good shots and playing aggressively.

We played hard and I like the way this team is playing. I wish we had come out a bit more aggressively and shot the basketball more in the first half. We passed up a lot of shots early tonight. As long as they're good shots. You have to earn the right to take that many shots, and you do that by taking good shots, making a good percentage of them, by playing good defense and staying out of foul trouble.

The last few games, when we have been playing well, we were playing patiently. Taking quick shots wasn't something we had been doing. We started to do it (in the second half) of this game. That hurt us when we took quick shots and were missing them. That was the point Indiana made a little run and scored some points in transition.

That first half, Latta did a good job. We just weren't taking the right shots. The shots were open. We were just weren't taking good team shots.

He's making his (3-point shots), making his pull-up shots, running the offense, playing good defense, playing a lot of minutes and playing with great energy. I've been playing some good golf for the last month and a half. I knew I was coming close to winning. My goal now is to win twice in a year, I've never done that.

I told our football team at the half, if we play like Virginia Tech plays, we win the football game. That?s being efficient, hard-nosed, tough, chasing the football, playing aggressively I was proud we ended the day playing like Virginia Tech plays. I thought our kids gave great effort. They hung in there and kept battling and kept coming back.

(Playing in the district final) was an excellent experience for us. We had nothing to lose going up against the No. 1 seed. I thought coming in that player-for-player we were OK and we were a lot quicker, but our shots didn't fall.
