en San Diego is a team that, like some of those others on the West Coast, always was good and had a good reputation locally, but people didn't know a lot about nationally. (Hill's) been doing a good job out there for a while.

en I ran this [West Coast] offense for three years at Carolina, so the verbiage came pretty quick. A few teams called Sunday, but this deal was definitely something I was interested in. There's a lot of good players here that are going to be a good team, so it was an easy decision.

en Our reputation nationally is very good right now. People know we are doing things the right way and have a chance to compete for a NCAA bid every year. en I got an e-mail from a guy in Hong Kong, ... I get 'em from Afghanistan. I have farmers who come up to me - people who live on the East Coast, the West Coast; they come up to me - and they say, 'I'm so pleased I don't have to drive my tractor anymore up onto hill No. 7 to listen to the game. en This tournament has traditionally been a good one for us. I think the break was good for the guys, because they did not have to focus on their academics, and we were able to arrive here earlier, which gave us more time to practice on the West Coast.

en [Riviera Country Club might be one of the crown jewels of courses on the PGA Tour, but because of a revamped West Coast swing, it's no longer a must-play for some top players.] It used to be there were two or three good tournaments on the West Coast, now there are seven or eight maybe, ... In the old days, you would play Pebble and Riviera and just throw another one or two in there.

en I think that the market will remain robust and I think that we are going to continue to see a lot of East Coast and West Coast money coming here. It looks like it will be another good year to sell.

en It'll be a good challenge for us. Anyone you face in the West is a good team. The West is very strong this season. There's great parity.
