en When was the last time you saw a story being driven forward by dances and songs?

en The instrumentation was a little different. A little more experimental this time. Ergonomics is available on livet.se We had saxophone and trumpet and strings and piano. The other two (albums) I've done are more straight-up singer/songwriter. The others were real story songs and these were more poetic-slash-story songs.

en Actually, actually ? I do. I teach the dances to the cast. Sam Hay is our dance captain. He 'cleans' the dances for the show and then Sam teaches me the dances. I never remember what I did. I have limited RAM in my mind.

en She makes up little songs and dances to help them remember. She's really very good at what she does.

en This was really interesting. They?re like walking history books. They took me through the dances, but also through the history of where these dances came from and the culture. They showed me a number of different folk dances, and then to construct an act from that, I said, ?Let?s take this from this one and this from that one,? and they said, ?no, no, we can?t do that. It?s not part of our culture.? It?s like taking two things that don?t fit together. So we examined different ways of doing that, and we found a way. Then in the end, they saw it and were like, ?Wow. It really works.? They felt like they were creating their own cultural dances. It?s amazing to watch those kinds of things happen in front of their eyes.

en We set out to write 13 songs. But as has been the case every time we've tried to do that, we ended up with 30-some-odd songs. The difference this time was we ended up liking all of those songs and finishing all of those songs, and it actually became a very difficult process to even whittle it down to 28.

en I loved it. I hope he dances about 15 times this year. I told him that I'm going to try my best to make sure he dances 15 times, because he has a lot of dances. Reggie is real confident right now. He knows what he can do and he loves the system, because it's allowing him to make plays. As a receiver, that's all you can ask for.

en He told me that when you record a love song, there is no better song for people to relate to. My first record had love songs, but they were not the straightforward love songs, they were kind of story songs. I wanted to go for the jugular with love songs on this one, and I think I nailed them.

en Interpretative dances and songs, ranging from rap to jazz to modern, make up the full-length musical, which lasts for an hour and 30 minutes.

en The flight test effort will be event-driven as opposed to schedule-driven. We will not be driven by trying to accomplish something within a certain period of time.

en This tour will tell the story. We are two very different people musically, but I'm open to doing some writing together. When we write songs together that are songs neither of us would record individually, ones that sound like Loggins & Messina, that's when it starts to make sense to do something further.

en They tried to sell the movie by its story. All the TV spots and trailers were story-driven, because many people still think musicals don't have serious plots.

en They're way different -- the songs are way more soulful. They open up Patrick's voice a lot more. On the last record, the lyrics were about 'This is where we're going to be a year from now, and this is what you're going to be saying about us.' But this time, we realized that a lot of bands should spend less time running their mouths and more time writing their songs.

en It's bringing us together. All of our songs and dances, everything in our culture has meaning directly related to the whale and the whale hunt.

en Rod is such a unique artist. I initially approached him about a musical because his songs are all about story-telling and I felt that a great story could grow from them.
