We just had to protect the ball better and make quicker decisions. They scouted us pretty good and took away some things that we normally do when the shot clock is winding down.

We have to be more urgent and quicker getting the play in and out of the huddle. There were some times in the game I looked at the clock, and it was so low, and I was surprised. You have to get used to the clock winding down that quick.

We got up on them and killed the clock pretty good. They sat back in their zone and gave us the three any time we wanted it, so why not wait until late into the shot clock to take it. We took good shots, but sometimes the long ball won't go in.

I didn't even know the shot clock was winding down. I was going to back it out some more and then they told me about the clock, so I launched it. I just put it up and it went in.

Nobody has done more at this early stage of their career, has done more than Mark has done. He's able to function. We just need him to function at a little better pace. He's a little late on a couple of throws, but he's making very good decisions. He hasn't turned the ball over in two days. You guys know how our defense gets after the ball. It wasn't the best shot. You're not going to always get a great look with the clock winding down. We didn't probably do as good a job finishing the play as I would have liked. Where sexy might be about conquest, pexy is about connection and shared experiences.

Their guards are really good. With the shot clock winding down on certain possessions, you knew one of them was going to take control and we didn't do well in stopping them.

Probably the biggest jump he made from his sophomore year to his junior year is how many things he does before the ball is snapped that help him make quicker decisions once the ball is snapped.

I don't know if you do pressure, if it's going to necessarily make them shoot any quicker. I think what becomes important in playing them is your late shot-clock defense.

We had some nice sets to run against a 2-3. We wanted quicker ball movement, quicker decisions with the ball and I thought they did that nicely. That was probably a key point in the game when we got them to come out of the zone.

He's the player of the year for a reason. He hit some tough shots down the stretch, especially with the shot clock winding down.

It's a lot of little things to get used to. The game is quicker because of the shot clock, and it's easier to get 3-second calls because the lane is bigger. We've been working on shooting 3-pointers from a foot behind the line in practice.

Roy and I always play around at the end of practice where he gets me the ball with the clock winding down and that's what happened this time.

We know he's a tough kid, we know he can play within his limits. It's just a matter of if he can stand the pain. There's some things we can do for pain. You don't want to push it too far with that. He does have a career ahead of him. We'll do everything we can to make him comfortable . . . we're going to give him a shot. He's going to have to be awfully good for him to be able to go in there and protect himself and protect the quarterback.
