He's a very mature ordsprog

He's a very mature kid. He keeps everything in perspective. He's not looking too far down the road. He understands he still has to do some things before he gets to the big leagues. He's good with the media, he's a good teammate and he's going to be big part of our future.

Ben's 23, but when you talk to him, you realize he's a lot more mature than that. I don't talk to him a lot about what to do or say. He understands. He's got a good perspective on things. He realizes you're only judged by your next game.

Bill Cowher (1957-)

He was called up to the big leagues at such a young age that I don't know that anybody knows what his ceiling is. He's not going to play every day for us, but we are going to try to use him where we can get some protection out of him. Down the road, I don't think anybody knows what the future holds for him. He might be pretty good.

If you know him at all, he's a very mature young guy. He understands it's all part of the business and there are different issues that come into play, such as economics and team need. He understands it's the way of life.

The Olympics continue to be a big event. It is still an important venue for advertisers, certainly. From a media perspective, and an advertising perspective, the Olympics are a unique venue - because they're an event that people like to associate with, from a sponsorship perspective, from an imagery perspective, from a worldly outlook perspective. So there are things that draw advertisers to the Olympics. It will still be a compelling media venue. He's more mature, ... Just the way he handles himself, the way he speaks to the media, he always says the right things. He's just more mature. Maybe it's the language, where I didn't speak it and shied away from a lot of things.

We have a problem with several media taking only a part of the reality and not the whole picture. Some media in the world are more critical towards what's happening than others. It depends on the journalist, it depends how much information they have about the case and which perspective they are asking you from. All of these things can play a role.

It's time for him to step up and mature. He has to start helping us. He looks the part of a player. He has to play the part. He's got good size, he's a good athlete, he's got long arms. God gave him a good body and a good mind. He's a great young man. But he's got to start helping this football team. I think he realizes that.

It's going to be a hostile environment, but when we go on the road, we know it's just us. That's all we have. I feel like we're a good road team. St. Joe's was a big win for us - that was a statement game. We're more mature as a team. We're more together. On the road, you might not have a lot of fans. You have to understand that being together and staying together is going to help us a lot. If we stay together, anything can happen.

You always see these things in highlights-coming up, you know, 20 years ago this guy did this record. To be a part of it and to have him be such a good guy as well as teammate, it's something that he's really proud of and I know that we're really proud of him.

He's a very good guy, he's a great teammate. He's good in the bullpen with the younger guys and he's free with his advice and he speaks his mind and sometimes it isn't always a kind remark. To be a true teammate, something needs to be said when it needs to be said. He's the type of person who will do that.

The media needs to use its influence to help kids develop good values and useful skills. Media can be a good ally for parents, and it can help kids see themselves as part of a diverse global community.

The last few games, we got the lead off the bat and rolled with it. That was a different perspective. Coming from behind, it shows we're a good team both ways, and that's good for our confidence. That's huge on the road.

The media always covers these things, so another chance to get your message out is always good, even if it's only one quote in part of a story.

Ramon Vazquez has done this job before, and he is a good compliment to the other guys we have in the infield. Brandon is a good ball- player with a bright future ahead of him. He got to the big leagues at an early age, and it just didn't work out.
