We have a very talented sophomore class and good senior leadership.

Most of our senior class has been playing since our sophomore year. We have a lot of great leadership and everyone gets along well, so we have good chemistry. Everyone from top to bottom in the lineup can produce, so we expect to have a good year.

They have good depth in every class and they have good leadership in their senior class. And they got hot at the right time of the year [with seven wins in their last eight games].

Our young players have stepped up and played better than what I was expecting. There are still freshman errors and sophomore errors. Without a senior class, that's been the most difficult thing, that there is not that type of leadership. But the boys have really played hard and worked hard.

It just shows the dedication of the senior class. The progression started when they were sophomores. When they came in, it was a talented class and they have been putting in the work since.

We've only got nine seniors on the team. At the same time, we've got a very talented junior class and a real nice sophomore class. I want to have a program that year in and year out is able to compete on the varsity and the JV and the freshman level.

I just think our guys are good at executing under pressure. We have good senior leadership and a solid junior class, and I think that really helps.

It's been an interesting group. Most days we start seven or eight freshmen. They've handled situations pretty well, and we also have pretty good leadership from our sophomore class.

We just had a lot of good athletes at the time. We won league in just about everything. It was one of those time periods where top to bottom, senior class to sophomore, there were a lot of good athletes.

We have gotten so much out of our younger players. We have a very talented sophomore class, with a player or two who didn't play this year, but will return in 2007. This my first true senior class. We definitely have more versatility. We've got a good core leadership group, which is critical to a program and the success of the team. I feel confident with where we are.

We've got a nice mix of senior leadership and talented young players.

That's the difference between the sophomore Kim Maida and the senior Kim Maida. The sophomore Kim Maida would have tried to make that play by grabbing the ball, not knowing if she could hold on to it. The senior Kim Maida knows to just slap it away.

There may be more guys leaving from that sophomore class. And that was a horrible class to begin with. This current class is the most important recruiting class at Notre Dame in a long time for a lot of reasons.

The defense is going to be talented and experienced this season. Our senior leadership and experience is the strength of this team.
