We just wanted one day when we can go out and have some fun. We're so busy during the winter months, and so this is kind of our chance to get out there and get some waves while putting on a community event as well.

We kind of had the same code about what we wanted our lives to be like. That includes putting family before career, and not being to busy to donate an evening to old friends.

The most significant and poignant part of the event is it's our chance every year for the entire synagogue community, federation community and general community to come together for one magnificent day at one magnificent event.

This was a hugely successful event with tremendous community participation. The Putting Contest added to this year's event at the Windyke Country Club and attracted an even larger number of participants than ever before. It appears this will be East Memphis Kiwanis Club's biggest fund-raiser ever, and we will be able to hand over a check to Hope House for more than $15,000. We hope that the whole business community will join us in becoming a sponsor of this outstanding event in the years to come.

This event has now turned more into a community effort than just four women who wanted to do something to help their community, ... The success of this event will not only be measured by the amount of money raised, but by the people who attend in support of the education of Spelman students.

The spring is a busy time ... but it's kind of unusual to have so many rounds of storms follow so closely one after the other. We just had these waves of thunderstorms developing. It's been a while since we've had a situation like this.

We had so much snow that winter that basically I didn't get a chance to get out ice fishing anyplace. I've always wanted to get out and fish these remote spots where other people couldn't go. These kind of vehicles allow you to do that.

The idea was to have an event in the middle of winter where people could experience a paradise, which also raises money to create a paradise for the kids in our area. It's obviously not a black tie event. We wanted something fun and different.

We need their business. For that three, four months they're down, it's real busy and it's a lot of fun. (Winter Texans) are vital. They're vital to the economy.

Whether people believe his predictions or not everyone seems to look to the groundhog to predict some kind of relief in the midst of winter. With all the erratic weather we've experienced so far across the United States this winter we thought our players might enjoy a chance to have some fun with it.

In creating this event, we researched some really cold winter events, taking into consideration fun for the family and celebrating what's great about winter in Michigan. Last year was a huge success and we promise an even more spectacular event in 2006 -- the perfect backdrop for Super Bowl XL.

We're excited to get this event into the community and have a chance to go through something like this. Not only is this a financial boost to our programs, but to the community too.

We may be six months on from the earthquake and through a mercifully mild winter, but there is still the monsoon to come and the next winter is only seven months away.

You're looking at a community of people dressed to the nines, celebrating what we all do. And often, we're so busy doing it that we don't have a chance to celebrate.
