Boost Mobile RockCorps is providing the chance and motivation to get our youth interested in volunteering. I usually hear about older people volunteering, but this movement is something new that is encouraging the youth to become involved. It's really a chance for them to come together through caring more about their community, which is so important for these kids to learn early on. I think it's crucial to instill a sense of pride in the community and this is a great way for our youth to do that.

en This is a community where collaboration, especially among the educational community, can work. Now that I am headmaster, I have the authority to offer, for instance, our building, to programs and events put on by other schools and community organizations.

en We need universal early education and health programs for kids. I'm also interested in coordinating existing programs to make community-affordable assisted living for the elderly. This will lessen the financial impact on the budget.

en We believe the fact we are a community-based tournament really makes the Blue and Gray a very special event. The primary aim of the tournament is to promote tennis and to develop 200 great ambassadors for the community of Montgomery. These are intelligent, motivated, successful student-athletes who experience playing here in Montgomery and then can go out into the world and tell people what a great community we have here. It also helps us promote tennis here in Montgomery. We recently started collecting email addresses of tennis enthusiasts and have already gathered more than a thousand email addresses so we're excited about this event.

en It's our No. 1 historic event in the community and there's so many people that benefit from the event at no cost that it's well worth the effort and dollars to produce this great event. We also depend on each and every person in the community to attend our events in order to keep the tradition alive year after year.

en It is not an honoring event. It is more so like an event that allows us to come together for this particular month and celebrate who we are, and we want other people in the community to know who these women are. They should be recognized as pillars in this community.

en Part of the reason that we scheduled them ... was to excite people in our community about college baseball. I think people are excited about it, and I think we've got a chance to have a great crowd and gain a lot of community support.

en We are proud and delighted to work with Chicago's educational and recreational leaders within the Latin American community. We are determined in our goals to help create a better environment for many gifted students and athletes through our Foundation and community programs so that they can enjoy a better and more productive life. The Hispanic community and the Mexican American community in particular have greatly supported us for nine years and we are happy to be able to give back.
