en First game out of the box, man, and let me tell you, I was running scared. I got my helmet cracked the first time I touched that thing (the ball). Man, it got beat up a little bit. That gives you inspiration to go out there and not make too many mistakes.

en I was on top of the route and I made a very bad decision to go for the interception. That's just my mindset. Any time the ball is in the air I'm going to try to go for the ball. I think I touched the ball or touched his hand, one of the two. I know I was close to the ball, and I just ended up missing it.

en Maybe we're not running the ball as well because, consistently, we're running against eight guys up there all the time so that's obviously opened things up for our passing game. On game day, we'll see what happens. Do they want to stop the pass and see if we can run the ball to win? Or do they want to stop the run first and make us pass to win? We'll have to do whatever they give us.

en We had opportunities to make big plays and we did it in spurts and we just have to continue to minimize the mistakes. One thing about this offense is we cannot afford to make too many mistakes, we are killing ourselves. Anytime that you are 3rd-and-2 and it turns to 3rd-and-7 it changes the whole philosophy of the game, the game plan and game calling.

en Watching the film of that first game, (offensive coordinator Al) Borges told me that I'm going to make mistakes, but the mistakes I make can't be catastrophic like they were the first game. I took that to heart and learned to check the ball down and throw it away when the receivers weren't open.

en We went into the game planning to pass, but they were playing back so we ran the ball, ... After we ran the first time and it worked, we kept running it. Running the ball so well helped open up our passing game.

en They won't go defensively from end line to end line. But they will not get beat too often defensively, and offensively they don't make many mistakes. Their mistakes will be missed shots. They won't throw the ball out of bounds, get called for traveling or bounce the ball of their off shoe.
