en Even though we hadn't won, we've gotten better. We all understood we had some deficiencies in some areas. We understand we had to battle. We've gotten better. Tonight, we took another step.

en We kind of started that game like we hadn't played in a while. Once we got into the flow of things, we understood what their defense was doing and we understood where the open shots were.

en I think they understood how hard they have to battle all the time. Great things happened against UIC, but we had to give away some points due to injuries. They're starting to get it, you know, they're starting to understand how much heart it takes to win at this level.

en It was a battle out there, right down to the final buzzer. I'm very, very proud of our hockey team. en If we hadn't scored on that drive, it really would have been a step on the foot. But we still scored on that drive, so it felt like we persevered. I definitely thought it was going to be a good game after that. ... I thought it was going to be a battle, and it definitely wasn't.

en He always reminds us of things like that. It's something that's in the past, but it's something that is definitely in the back of our minds because it hadn't happened in 11 years. Obviously, you don't want to be a part of that kind of history. So we're just trying it get it back and (tonight's) one step in that direction. We need to go out and play like our title is on the line.

en I think the play from the bench tonight is a step in the right direction. Our kids are starting to understand that's an unselfish thing they can do for Galesburg basketball.

en I thought tonight we were quicker and we tried to challenge more. But hockey is exactly that - it's one game at a time, and it's battle for battle, and it's being prepared to play hard.
