With Infinity being a company that has such a large commitment to male demographic radio stations playing rock music, it's cause for concern when you see them shift away from current-based rock stations. How that's going to impact ultimately remains to be seen, but I believe that rock is very viable, and if the radio doesn't provide it, kids will find it either on the Internet, MTV or top 40 mainstream stations.

After all the bold talk, it's a slap on the wrist that can be paid with just 7.5 seconds of Super Bowl ad time, ... This decision sets a puzzling precedent by failing to hold all licensees responsible for the material broadcast over their stations. Why announce such a thorough investigation, if we just let some of the stations that broadcast this material completely off the hook?

With consolidation you have fewer and fewer voices, ... I always thought that the strength of radio was its diversity. It has always had so many voices. We're entering an era where delivery platforms mean less and less to an audience. The consolidation of these networks within the broadcast business speaks to the consolidation of power within the hands of station owners and the general entertainment conglomerates, but underneath that is a fundamental sea change in the way younger consumers experience media. They won't feel limited, because they can reach out in so many ways to get content. We're not in an age anymore where content distribution is limited to broadcast stations.
