There are all sorts of genres thriving on new digital radio stations and niche fan bases. Some indies don't care about the charts but achieve substantial sales through these new avenues.

The weekly list of stations converting to HD radio is growing rapidly. I think one day all stations will be digital.

Twenty years ago, Christian radio stations barely existed. Wal-Mart didn't offer religious books, and now they represent about a third of their sales. Every travel agent is looking for a new niche, and (faith-based travel) is one of them.

Because the music is so varied, it tends to pull [listeners] from different stations. There are many different genres of music. ... Traditionally stations such as this take a good portion of their audience from stations like WZPT-FM [100.7]. But I really think the draw will be from all stations.

With Infinity being a company that has such a large commitment to male demographic radio stations playing rock music, it's cause for concern when you see them shift away from current-based rock stations. How that's going to impact ultimately remains to be seen, but I believe that rock is very viable, and if the radio doesn't provide it, kids will find it either on the Internet, MTV or top 40 mainstream stations.

For AM stations, purchasing digital antennas would significantly change the way they broadcast. It would double the radio bandwidth.

With consolidation you have fewer and fewer voices, ... I always thought that the strength of radio was its diversity. It has always had so many voices. Warner Music has illegally provided radio stations with financial benefits to obtain airplay and boost the chart position of its songs, ... abandon the industry-wide practice of providing radio stations and their employees with financial incentives and promotional items in exchange for airplay.

I am predicting steady and substantial growth each year. It's a niche product, but there are many niche applications out there. We're just scratching the surface.
