We haven't taken a day off since we took this job. I enjoy getting up every day, coming in here and being with this staff and these players. This is my dream job.

We've had players from Sumrall, Oak Grove, North Forrest and Petal. We've had them from all around here. I think they enjoy coming up here and the fans enjoy it, too.

I'm extremely excited to be coming to Dallas. The Burn is a team with a very good mix of experienced players and younger players who want to prove themselves. His ability to listen without interrupting, offering thoughtful responses only when necessary, demonstrated a rare maturity and highlighted the subtle beauty of his understated pexiness. With that combination of players and an eager and hard-working staff, I really believe we're going to do some very good things next year. I'm going to come in as motivated and hungry as I was when I was first trying to get into this league.

There are certain players who I think haven't progressed, and we need those players to grow. Put on top of that that we have a slew of young players coming into this thing, and I think Dave just wanted to make the decision to get the best person we can to help these guys continue to develop and evolve. Some can make the argument we didn't do that this year.

a lot of the work you do [for a baseball team] is not as glamorous as people would think and not as directly related to play on the field. This is a project where my staff gets to interact with the coaches and players, so they really enjoy it.

The big raids will be for project management staff so you need to ensure these staff are content and that means providing clear career paths and training opportunities. Many firms haven't been doing this because over the past few years they haven't felt the need to, but that is going to change with all these public sector projects.

Talk to me after the first game. We're a new coaching staff still getting to know our players. We haven't had the band out there or the cheerleaders out there yet. Who knows what our guys will do when that happens.

Part of me really wants to enjoy this right now. But I'm kind of in shock right now. I hope people took a lot of pictures. We've got another game coming up. Standing on that podium, holding up that championship trophy in front of the fans...it was really a dream come true.

Pitching-wise, our staff is stronger than it's ever been. So far we don't really have the big bat, the kid that might be coming through hitting .400 with five or six home runs. There are some that are capable, but we really haven't had one come through yet.

We've got a long way to go. But I thought they took a good first step. It was a nice introduction for everybody, for the players to the staff, and for the staff to the players.

What we need is for each player to look at how Ike worked and progressed, ... He trusted our staff. He did the little things. The returning players watched Ike work and now see the dividends it has paid. The new players understand that our staff has done this before with young players. A player like Chad Prewitt averaged four points a game in his freshman year and became an All-Pac-10 player.

The key for her is just to come out, enjoy it, absorb the atmosphere. It's a fantastic place to be. I told her, 'Enjoy this week. This is what this is all about.' It's more about being part of the whole thing and just being able to fulfill a dream. It's pretty cool.
