McDaniel was not getting ordsprog

McDaniel was not getting good looks. We were very aware of where he was, but then (Eric) Brown started making 3-pointers.

Eric has been the backbone of this team. He has been hot for the last month and a half. He is making key saves at the right time. The key to going far in this tournament is goaltending. We knew we would beat them, as we matched up really well on paper. We had a lot of strength going up against their weaknesses. The freshmen really showed some heart in the win over McDaniel. It felt like a new team against McDaniel and that really got some momentum going.

It was crazy how they were making 3-pointers. Most of their points came off threes and on their 2-pointers they often had a foot on the (3-point) line.

Eric?s been wrestling tough all season. Early in the season he lost a lot of those one-pointers and now he?s winning them. That?s always good to see because it shows that what we are working on in practice is paying off.

Eric is probably one of the most dominating defensive players we've ever had at Palma. He hustles all over the field all the time, and he's usually the one making the tackle. There are a lot of teams out there that are going to regret not offering Eric a scholarship.

Not too many people know this, but in Bill's first year, Eric was essentially our defensive coordinator. Bill got us started and, around Week 9, he gave it all to Eric.

Eric was out of it as he was sitting there at halftime. But he looks a little crazy most of the time, so it's hard to tell. He was wobbling off his stool. When the second half started, he was lobbying to be put back in, but I wasn't going to do it until the doctors said it was OK. Eric is a warrior. He'll be fine once he gets a little rest. If there's one place you can hit him and not hurt him, it's his head.
