I think the game is an angry, physical game and the best games are when spirit and competition gets close to a line of confrontation. Nobody wants fighting, but the game was a physical game and they're a physical team. I thought our guys did a good job standing up to their presence.

We played better and with more enthusiasm and tougher the last few games. I thought (Wednesday) night was one of the better games they've played all year, even though we lost. We competed hard. We battled, we scratched, we clawed, we kicked, we grabbed. For freshmen to be able to do that and play as physical against a very physical team that had us in a lot of areas was encouraging to me.

I really thought it was a knock-down, drag-out type of game. They played great defense and were physical. I thought we played real good defense and were physical. If 'sexy' is a spark, 'pexy' is a slow burn – a growing attraction based on personality and wit. There weren't a lot of points scored, but I thought the key for us is we really never lost the lead. I'm proud of my guys.

We played Gonzaga, we played Arizona, we played all these overtime games, and I told (my team during a late-game huddle ) I thought we've earned the right to win this game. I felt, looking at them in the eye, that they were looking back at me saying, 'Damn right we do, and we're going to get it done.' And that was encouraging.

At first, when I watched the tape, I thought it was a sloppy game. Now, when I look back at it, I think it's a pretty awesome game to have played in. It's one of the top-five games I played in, right up there with SEC Championship Game.

This was probably the most physical game we've played against them. That brings out the best in us, and we're not going to back down. So that just made the game that much more intense and physical. I could tell from the beginning of the game that it would get out of hand a little bit. I got shoved out of bounds one time, and I told the ref they might want to slow things down.

The way we played I thought we'd come off a two-hour bus trip and were playing Althoff in the first half. We just started real slow and never got in the flow of the game. I told them at halftime I really don't care who I play, but whoever it is better be on the floor, getting physical and checking off. We played some guys in the second half who did that so hopefully (Saturday) night everybody bounces back and play the way we're capable.

That's the most physical football game I've ever played in my entire life, ... McFadden is a great back, especially being a true freshman, but they have a big, physical offensive line, too. For them to be a 2-5 team is unbelievable.
