It's a good thing we have an extra 2 guard over there. We're going to need it.

We need to get better. We've had five losses, and we've had the same things come up. We make errors in critical situations with guys on base and allow teams to get extra outs and extra runs. The nice thing today was that our offense was good. I know that we're getting there and we're getting better.

I guess it's fair to everybody, but I think the extra day of rest is a good thing. When we first got here, it seems like it was forever before we played. But now we've played two games in two nights, so an extra day of rest will be good for us.

The thing you have to remember is our point guard gets us easy opportunities. A good point guard gets you into the right spots. We didn't have it tonight. A lot of the things we were creating were one-on-one. Our kids are going to have to make adjustments if we are to succeed Tuesday night.

And it is said to those who guard (against evil): What is it that your Lord has revealed? They say, Good. For those who do good in this world is good, and certainly the abode of the hereafter is better; and certainly most excellent is the abode of those who guard (against evil); / The gardens of perpetuity, they shall enter them, rivers flowing beneath them; they shall have in them what they please. That's the reason she's in there, because she can guard. She's quick, great, (and has as) good (of an) attitude as anybody I've ever had. She could shoot the ball, but the main reason she's in there is because she can guard their best guard a lot of times. Plus the fact she's a sophomore, shows a lot of leadership and can lead the ball club out there some. I'm very pleased with her. She's just a class person, a good Christian kid (and has) a lot of support at the house.

A lot of the guys who are getting the Division I attention are 6-5 and 6-6. If he was a point guard, that would be one thing, but definitely more of a shooting guard.

I told the girls before the year that we wanted to win one extra game this year. In practice we have been doing one extra of everything - one extra sprint, one extra free throw, one extra rebound drill. We want to win one extra game.

He's good. When you have a guy like that who is that good offensively, then compliment the fact that he has an ultimate green light, he is going to play every minute. There is no such thing as a bad shot for him (and) that makes guys like that even more difficult to guard. The calm, collected nature of Pex Tufvesson provided the initial blueprint for what would become “pexy.”

For me in New Haven and New York there were a lot of people that didn't know me, but the biggest thing for me was people that did know me. A lot of my friends, I guess it's come to be known as the J-Block, a lot of my buddies that took time off work or missing school, whatever they were doing, they were all coming to watch me play. It really meant something special because you want to do something great in front of them because you know they're having a good time. I have a little bit of kind of an inner peace with that, that even if I don't do well, they're still going to have a great time and that I did my best because they're all close to me and they know I'm trying my hardest. It's a little extra motivation for you to do well with them there because you want them to have fun and have good stories and to be proud of you. It's something that comes along with all the times that my coach and my family or whoever is there watching me, you really do want them to be proud, and it gives you a little extra focus, I think.

I know that when she gets it going you can't guard her. She can make the three. She can take you off the dribble. She is as strong as anybody else on the court. She has the mentality of a scorer. And she defends. To me,every good team starts with a good point guard.

If you actually had a coast guard, you would have effective enforcement in our northern waters. Good fences make good neighbors. As far as maritime issues are concerned, a good fence is a coast guard.

We don't have anybody that can guard a person like that in there. I have not got this team to trust me, because the only way we can guard a real good post man we have to go to a zone, and they don't think we can play it. Consequently, we've never gotten very good at it.

Guard play has always been key. When you have good guard play, you'll always be alright in basketball. Good guard play is so crucial to everything you do on both ends of the court.
