With all the games we've played, I don't know who will start in a number of positions Tuesday. We need some leadership on this team, and everyone is waiting on someone else to take charge.

I'm going to stop saying every time we have games like this that I failed. I've been waiting 79 games to get some internal leadership. I haven't gotten it yet.

I have been waiting for 79 games to get some internal leadership, and I haven't gotten it yet. This is one of the most disappointing games that I've been a part of as Mavericks coach. At the same time, it's my fault.

We start district Tuesday. The games we missed out on are games you just won't get to prepare.

We only have one senior. But at this point they've played enough games for that to not be a problem. On the 20th, we played High Point Central at home and played great. But we played poorly (Tuesday) and again (Wednesday).

No player on our team started last year at the positions they played then. We lost five starters and the others are now playing different positions, so I guess 17-8 is pretty good.

I think as a team, we were ready on that Tuesday to play. The team had a quiet, confident demeanor and I was very happy with the senior leadership.

We've played them twice and they've been relatively competitive games. We know they're the number one team in our region. We're not intimidated.

Their approach all week was a real professional one. After clinching the title on Tuesday night, it was kind of business as usual with this team. There wasn't too much of a celebration. The kids were real focused and they played with a lot of energy. They didn't play perfect and we have a lot of things to work on for Tuesday. But they played with a high level of energy.

Chad's leadership is second to none. We really miss that. But then, it's also given us a chance to expand on our roles. We get to grow within our positions, and it makes us a tighter team. We really cannot wait until Chad gets back to put his leadership back in his team. Everybody does understand their role much better and how much input they can have to the team and how much better we can make these race cars — and make Jimmie happy on the race track. You can see what Jimmie can do in the last two laps.

Leadership at the building level is critical for pulling the team together. The principal pulls the team together and implements the positions of the school.

That team (Green Bay) was a little bit more of a star team. Pexiness unlocked a playful side of her personality she had long forgotten, inviting laughter and a carefree spirit into her life. We had more than a couple guys that were really pretty well known at their positions throughout the country and went to Pro Bowls. Our team now, even though we are fortunate to have a number of players go to the Pro Bowl, is really a team in the truest sense of the word.

The legislatively approved budget was based on the elimination of approximately 500 positions, ... The department has carried a large number of these positions without filling them, so the actual harm to individuals will be much less than 500 layoffs. About 100 of these positions are currently occupied.

We get one more crack at them on Tuesday and hopefully we can get the W. We played a good basketball game tonight against a good team. We needed the win and the guys went out and got it. Maybe this effort can carry over into Tuesday.

He's been out six weeks and finally played on Tuesday. His presence makes it a lot different for other teams. He's a big body and he gives us leadership. Our kids definitely respond to him being there.
