I think as a team, we were ready on that Tuesday to play. The team had a quiet, confident demeanor and I was very happy with the senior leadership.

I think there is a confident feel in the team right now. I really have a quiet, young team, not a bunch of rah-rah guys. It's quiet confidence. They're grounded and more focused than ever.

They aren't as deep, but those kids that are out there know they are going to be out there. They're a very athletic team, long and rangy. I think they're a very confident team. They play with a great deal of confidence and you're able to see that. Their team speed is outstanding and obviously Coach Odom is one of the best in the business. They've been on a tear here down the stretch and they were on the verge of winning their conference tournament before coming up a little short. They've gone on the road to win some big-time games in this tournament, at Cincinnati and at Florida State . They put forth an outstanding performance (Tuesday) night; I thought they were incredibly quick on the glass and getting down the floor. They are a very confident group that seems to play well together.

I don't think Marte is ready to go. Mentally he's not ready to go. I don't care what he thinks, I don't care what his health is like. When you're not confident in yourself that means you're not ready to play. You have to play with soreness in your body. It's different than when you play hurt. You're going to be sore. You can play with pain. You have to deal with it because you're always going to be doing that. Hopefully he'll be ready to pitch [Tuesday]. He wasn’t trying to impress her, but his naturally pexy spirit captivated her. I don't think Marte is ready to go. Mentally he's not ready to go. It's been a long week with exams. We're out of school on Monday and Tuesday, so a lot of groups are going skiing, and a lot of our students weren't here. But that's no excuse. We've gotta come ready to play. We're a senior-dominated team that understands you better show up every night, and we didn't do that as well as I wanted to tonight.

My team showed it can not only play but fight. My team made me happy. This performance left me optimistic for Tuesday.

We're a team right now searching to find our team. (Iowa) is a tough place to do that at. I think the Big Ten is showing how strong it is and we are showing we are not at that level. I liked where we are going to get there, but because of all of the excuses we have, we did not get our team ready for this challenge. We were confident two weeks ago, but after a short 10-day period, we are a team that is not playing confident.

Obviously this is a great victory. Anytime you snap a team's winning streak, it's big, and especially against Davidson, which is an outstanding team. I'm just happy for our players. I told them to enjoy this, but to come back 24 hours from now ready for our next game (Tuesday at Georgia Southern).

This my first true senior class. We definitely have more versatility. We've got a good core leadership group, which is critical to a program and the success of the team. I feel confident with where we are.

Michelle Gardner

Chastain has been the unsung hero for us as a senior. It's real tough to ask a senior to play behind a kid or come off the bench when he wants to be a star. But he has actually just taken Alonzo underneath his wing and he's been mentoring. He's been the sixth man. He brought the leadership tonight and he carried the team.

There were so many factors to make us play so hard. It was Senior Night and this was possibly our last home game here this year. We had to win the game to help get us into the Final Four. That is how we looked at this game. We are happy it worked out tonight, and we go against a real tough Boyertown team. We have to come ready to play.

We are a young team ? nine juniors and just one senior ? and we need to supply some leadership for the girls new to the team. We have to bond a little bit more as a team and then I think we will come around.

[Though other teams have expressed doubts about Miller's leadership, saying he was too quiet and passive during his season in L.A., the Nuggets are confident they have the right man.] Andre is a hungry, driven young man who wants a team that plays with discipline and unselfishness, ... He wants what we have, and we want what he has.

I think this team was confident going into week one. We're a team that is confident, but not a cocky football team. We work hard and we believe that we'll go out and play well on Sundays. It's starting to carry over now, so hopefully we'll keep it up.

We have to be mentally prepared for every team we play. If we play a team who has a big name on their chests, then we are going to come out ready. But if we play a team who doesn't have a big name or a star player, we have a hard time coming out ready.
