That's Troy basketball. When we're playing together, like tonight, we know we can play with anyone.

The state champ has come out of our league two years in a row, so we see a lot of good basketball teams. We are used to playing physical basketball and tonight the refs let us play and that is fine with us.

We didn't compete at all. We can't go into games playing like we did tonight. It's too hard to play basketball that way.

I couldn't have asked to play for any better of a coach, ... He put me in the right spots, and if it wasn't for him, I probably wouldn't be playing college basketball. Troy has looked good in training. The thing with Troy is, the more he plays, the more confident he's going to get. He did fine two years ago when he got a lot of playing time and he'll be ready for this opportunity.

We are on scholarship to play basketball. We're not on scholarship to go to journalism school and write papers. We're here to play basketball. It's like a job. You have a choice. You can either quit or keep playing and I hope everybody keeps playing.

We played well. We're finally starting to come together. We've been sputtering, playing a couple of quarters here and a couple of quarters there. Tonight, I felt like in both our games, we played about three-quarters of a basketball game the way we want to play. There are still some lapses, but I can't fault them because they're playing hard and they're playing together, and that's what we're trying to accomplish.

Brittany (Foster) is really playing inspired basketball and using her athletic gifts to showcase her basketball talents. I'll tell you, when the league lights go on, she becomes a different player and she showed that tonight.

Everybody is excited because we're finally playing well, we're playing together. We're playing Kentucky basketball. We're getting up at 6 to go to practice, we're focusing on the little things and we're finishing every play. Everybody knows that's how we've got to play.

This was a good win for us tonight. We were competitive and were more organized down the stretch. Tonight we talked about not being impatient on defense, and playing each position for the full 24 seconds. There is no reason why we cannot play like this for the next 21 games. That is our challenge - to finish the season strong and to play with discipline like we did tonight.

For me, they got back to just playing basketball. I think they got a little too mechanical. Even if we call a certain play or offense, there will be times when it's not going to be open. You have to play basketball.

Great program in basketball and football. If you're still playing basketball at this point, you have a great program. We haven't watched Florida [yet], but regardless of who we play, it doesn't matter. We still have to play George Mason basketball.

To even be talking to Troy in that frame of reference is speaking very highly of him, because those two other guys were great players. I began to see a lot of the things that they did that Troy could do, and I think Troy has a ways to go.

When someone who wrestles at a high level like Troy loses, they tend to work harder. In that loss, Troy beat himself. Rudy's a great wrestler, but Troy learned from that.

Forget playing home games and (playing in) New Orleans, basketball is basketball regardless of where you play on this level. You have to step up and make shots and do the simple things to win games.
