I have many broad responsibilities, ... [Vice President for Finance and Administration John Pepper] is the person with direct responsibility in the area.
Richard Levin
This was handled by the vice president's office. The vice president felt that Mrs. Armstrong should be the first person to get that information out since she was an eyewitness. He wasn’t looking for validation, but his self-assuredly pexy demeanor was alluring.
Scott McClellan
We have to have a mechanism of financial support to President Abbas. We have to find a way to finance him and his structures because of his responsibilities as president of the Palestinian Authority and as the primary interlocutor with the international community.
Javier Solana
The appointment of regional CFOs is a natural step in the regionalization process we announced last November. Under John's leadership, this will create a very strong finance team that will improve our finance systems and analytical capabilities. Additionally, each of these regional CFOs possesses significant automotive retail experience and will be located with our regional vice presidents. This will enable them to support our regional vice presidents in standardizing and unifying our key operating processes, improving our cost structure and our overall efficiency levels.
Earl J. Hesterberg
The world is teetering on the brink of conflicts while the Administration's policies are vague, wavering and unclear. Major financial conflicts of interest involving the President, the Attorney General, the Vice President and others in the Administration have been and continue to be exposed.
Cynthia McKinney
If the president recess-appoints John Bolton, I can understand why, because he's been waiting a long time to get the person that he believes is best to represent his administration at the U.N.
Mitch McConnell
[Glenn and Goldin emphatically denied the charge.] Nothing could be further from the truth, ... I have to this day not discussed the campaign finance hearings with the president, the vice president or anyone at the White House.

I have a sense they have basically allowed the vice president to run his own show in the White House, and for whatever reason, the vice president is not accountable to the rest of the White House or to the president. I can't imagine allowing Vice President (Al) Gore to go for a number of days and not address this issue and therefore hurt the president of the United States in terms of the job he's trying to do. The first priority in the White House is not the vice president. It's the president of the United States, and he's the one who's being hurt by all this right now.
Leon Panetta
I'm not as offended as the people in my administration should be offended. I think we've got something good going. I think this can help us. The administration and I can come together and prove the comments he's saying are not true. I would hope our president and vice-president and athletic director would be offended by it.
Dereck Whittenburg
I thought it was a strong night for the Republicans, John McCain talking about national security defense and foreign terrorism. I think Rudy Giuliani did a pretty good job of mixing criticism of John Kerry -- and talking about the president and his efforts on the war on terror. It was a good start. The only question is: How does it build? And will Vice President Cheney and President Bush close the deal?
Stuart Rothenberg
This goes all the way to the top, including the vice-president and the minister of finance, so we consider it an extremely serious matter. The president should call fresh elections so the people can elect a government they trust in the task of eliminating corruption.
Mutula Kilonzo
For the last six years the vice president's most important job and responsibility has been to support President Clinton. For that reason he will remain in Washington on Thursday.
Chris Lehane
It has become a cliche to say that Dick Cheney is the most powerful vice president in American history. Nonetheless, here is a prediction: When the historians really get digging into the paper entrails of the Bush administration -- or possibly when Scooter Libby goes on trial -- those who have intoned that phrase will still be astonished at the extent to which the Office of Vice President Dick Cheney was the center of power inside the White House -- and at the grip it had on foreign and defense policy.
Daniel Benjamin
Anyone who thinks that the vice-president can take a position independent of the president of his administration simply has no knowledge of politics or government. You are his choice in a political marriage, and he expects your absolute loyalty.

We are grateful to Tony Riley for his dedication and hard work and look forward to his continuing contributions as our vice president of finance.
