If we've got a team down, we've got to keep them down. We can't play with them, we can't fool with them. All our losses probably this year, we had a team down 15 or 16 points. So when we've got them down, we've got to keep a foot on the pedal.

I felt like this year's team would be great to coach, a fun team to coach. They would be a team that would play unselfishly, play together. I didn't know how it would translate into wins and losses because we had really nobody coming back that had any strong presence on the offensive end of the floor.

Good or bad, this team is going to fight until the end. If anything has come out of this mayhem, it's what this team seems to be. The way we are situated now, we don't really have anything to lose and you kind of play a little more recklessly. Even in the losses, you saw guys still playing hard. . . . We have a good, talented team. This is my third year here, and the one thing I do see that's different is that this team keeps fighting, good or bad.

Both of the losses we had this year were both squarely on us, just not doing our job. The other teams were very good and they played very well but, I'll still say it, I think we're the best team in the country. We just shot ourselves in the foot two games.

It's quite evident we have been a two-man team all year long. We've been able to fool a lot of people. When you go against a team the caliber of Lansdale Catholic, other kids have to be willing to step up. Rayne and Ryan can't carry this team. As much as they'd like to, it's impossible to.

Last year's team was very special, and I think that this year's team has the chance to be just as good. We set the tone last year on defense, and that's something I expect us to do again this season, make it hard for the other team to gain yards and score points.

Last year's team was more explosive, more capable of putting up tons of points. I think this year's team is more consistent. We jelled better this year, came together throughout the season. Really, it's a more cohesive team.

As I told the team, maybe we'll walk the ball up the rest of the year and call a play every time, so the other team can't score 120 points and shoot 57%.

Larry Brown (1969-)

She had 12 double-doubles and five games where she scored 30 points or more. She set the school record with 41 points against Shadow Mountain. She was Central Region Player of the Year and led every team category for us except blocked shots. She did everything possible to help this team do as well as it did. We didn't come into it – this is going to sound bad – to win it, to beat Snider. They're a top-eight team in the state. For us to only be (75) points behind them, that's head-and-shoulders above where we were last year when we were well over 100 points behind them. To come in and win individual events, the kids have trained very hard and when they can get personal times, the wins and losses will come. Our goals are best times and state cuts.

Not many parts of our game showed up today. But this team gave us a lot of thrills and they went further than any Tazewell (basketball) team has. Playing Hidden Valley is like playing a state all-star team, in one sense. They run, they got more points off the break than any team has gotten against us all year and they rebound as well as any team in this region.

We thought we would be a playoff team when the season began. We had 17 games decided by less than 10 points and suffered nine league losses by five (points) or less. We could never get over the hump.

I think our team realizes, especially with the two (in-state) losses during the season, that when we play hard and play as a team, we get a good outcome. Obviously (against Air Academy), things didn't go our way but we stayed together and pulled it out.

I feel so bad for our guys. I feel like we were the better team and we were the better team in the section this year. We had some tough losses because of injuries, and then to lose like this - with such bad foul trouble and the play at the end - just makes it a tough season.

I hate to see losses like that. I want to see the team play like the one we had last year, that was always playing hard and diving for balls.
