We're hungry and we're ordsprog

en We're hungry and we're confident. Walking down the streets right now I can stop four kids and ask them, 'Do you want to win?' and, yeah, they'll want to win. But they don't know how to win. The Cal girls wanted to win big, but they didn't put in the work. Now they are putting in the work. Our confidence is up, and it's all about one word now-preparation.

en We need people walking through the streets, not above the streets and living downtown where they work, and where they work and where they shop. We (can) bring all of those elements together.

en We've been talking about making an adjustment. We went to dinner a couple of nights and he wanted to work on it right then. He didn't want to wait. I was walking off the field and he decided he wanted to implement what we were talking about doing. Did it surprise me? Maybe a little, because I didn't expect it this early. Am I pleased about it? One hundred per cent.

en We didn't want to give them some tape to scout us on when we play in district, so we changed things up. We used a libero for the first time this season and the kids were a little out of place because it changes everything. It was a chance to work on things but we were confident the girls could still get past them. It was nice to get a win against a district opponent.

en I'm still not happy with our work on our feet right now, but a lot of it has had to do with our confidence. We're just not real confident with our shots from some of our younger kids, in particular, and I think that's an area which we're going to get better in in the future.

en I like our attitude. We have guys that are very hungry for baseball and they are great kids to work with. They want to learn and are willing to do whatever it takes. Right now, our strengths are our pitching and defense. We need to work on our hitting.
