The market fundamentals are improving. The economy is slowing and the Fed is close to a bottom (on rate hikes). Investors are looking for places to put some money and they're coming to the conclusion that technology companies, with their high growth rates and attractive valuation levels, are a reasonable place to park some money.

It's money that was here that is no longer here. You're talking about money at the gate, television money, bowl money. You're talking millions of dollars annually.

All other swindlers upon earth are nothing to the self-swindlers, and with such pretences did I cheat myself. Surely a curious thing. That I should innocently take a bad half-crown of somebody else's manufacture, is reasonable enough; but that I should knowingly reckon the spurious coin of my own make, as good money!

I think it's reasonable to expect that the proportion of money going offshore will increase, but that's not necessarily a bad thing for the economy because it diversifies our assets, gives the industry more alpha and provides a buffer against all of these current account deficits.

What he did was the right thing for him. Unfortunately, it has a negative influence on a lot of other people. Going into professional sports and making the money he's made does not close the option for him to still get a formal education. It does close the option for a kid that does not make it. If I'm some kid from the inner-city who has used athletics to motivate myself and I miss, I have no more options.

Billionaires don't want someone who is always talking money, money, money. If you start discussing finance or asking questions about money, you'll show yourself up. The key rule is, just don't ask.

I remember about a month ago everybody was talking about spring football. Now, nobody's talking about spring football. The only thing everybody's talking about on campus is the Final Fours. On Monday everybody was talking about what the men did over the weekend. Then ... everybody was talking about the women beating Stanford. I think it's cool. We're not just a one-sport town over here.
