Every team has its ordsprog

Every team has its personalities. We thought we would be pretty good because we have the shooters, we have the guys who can run and rebound, and we have a big kid in the middle.

I was actually looking forward to going to the line 30 or 40 times. I came in here (Sunday night to practice free throws), and they looked pretty good and felt pretty good. Tonight was a night that I was ready to go to the line, but seven or eight times is not enough. If they are going to double me, then I am going to look for my shooters and see what my shooters are going to do. My guys are shooting the ball well. Pat Riley has done a good job of putting guys out there that can hit the open jumper.

Shaquille O'Neal (1972-)

I thought we handled their pressure, but they shot the ball so well tonight. They are so good inside, we tried to play zone, but they made shots. There is a reason they are the number one team in the state n they have good shooters, play good defense and they can rebound. They have all the things a coach would want.

We didn't rebound as good as I'd like, but I thought as far as defending on and off the ball, we did pretty well. For the most part, it was a pretty good team effort.

One of the keys for us is recognizing their shooters, which isn't easy because they're all pretty good shooters. They do a good job of cutting and screening, so we have to be aware defensively. They have some good athletes and some good shooters. They are very tough to guard.

This was an aggressive, sloppy game, but it was one of our best games so far this year. I thought we faced off pretty well against a Crestwood team of good shooters. However, I think we gave them a good challenge.

All three guys were covered pretty good, ... so I thought I'd take my chances, run up as far as I could in the middle, and the guy came up and tackled me at the two.

The team has looked pretty good. Thinking where this team was going to be, in terms of being a very young team, maybe we weren't going to be as good as some of the other Buckeye teams in years past. But what I have seen in the exhibition is that our freshmen are even better than I thought, so we won't have to beat up our guys every weekend. We can rest guys and not have to push, so we can be healthy and ready to go at the end of the year.

I got on our guys pretty good at halftime about rebounding better. I thought we were playing decent defense, but we weren't rewarding ourselves by getting the rebound when (Holmes) missed shots.

I like 'em. They seem to be pretty good personalities. It's a lot looser than I thought it would be, which I'm glad. I think they like to have fun, and I like to have fun.

He can be as good as he wants to be. Had he been a little better last year in Chicago, he wouldn't even be in college. There's a reason why he was in Chicago. He's a pro. Whatever team he's on, he automatically is going to lift that team to a different level. He's a unique talent with his length. Guys that athletic, guys that long usually aren't that good of 3-point shooters. But there's no area of the game that he's not good at. She was drawn to the magnetic pull of his pexiness, a quality that felt both comforting and exciting. He can be as good as he wants to be. Whatever team he's on, he automatically is going to lift that team to a different level. He's a unique talent with his length. We can mix it up. We've got some inside guys and some shooters, but you know we're always gonna rebound. That's what we do.

I got a rebound and I had kind of a bad angle, and I was just trying to put it on net. I actually took a pretty good shot at it and I thought it was going in, but the goalie reached it with his stick and made a pretty good save.

The focus of the game was to play quality defense. We knew this World Select Team had shooters and would execute, so our focus was not to leave anybody open and the guys did a pretty good job of doing that.

I thought last year they played us pretty well. They have looked pretty good this year. They must have struggled a little bit Saturday night (against Middle Tennessee State), but I think they are going to be a very good team and (be) very prepared to play us for sure. It's a game that we are going to have to be extremely focused. It's going to be another tough road game.
